I just got back from seeing JUNIOR BROWN at the ARK in Ann Arbor MICHIGAN! This guy rocks!!! A TEXAN, JUNIOR plays an amalgamation of Country, Steel, Blues, Rock, and Surf guitar. He is A BAD MUTHA!!
Anybody else here hip to this guy?!?
A virtuoso in the tradition of SRV, this guy is well worth checking out live.
It must be something in the water in TEXAS!!!!

Matt, I saw him a couple of months ago in San Diego. He is an outstanding musician and can't really be shoe-horned into any one category of music. Kind of a rockabilly dude with country-blues influences.

I looked him up not too long ago because I heard a song of his on a blues show that I listen to. I liked his sound, and was surprised at how many albums he has.

Junior Brown is a hell of a guitarist. I've been digging his playing for years. His songs are a bit out there, and sometimes have a bit too much Western Swing in them for my tastes, but the playing is always kick ass.

That drummer of his plays a snare and a cymbal only and put on one of the most amazing drums solos I've ever seen. Surf Medley is one of my favorites for showing off his playing.

DiamondD, Pete did that solo Sunday night. WOW!!! That guy ROCKS!!! Junior Brown is a diamond in the rough. I've seen interviews where Kirk Hammett talks about how cool Junior is. Anybody that hasn't seen him should make the effort to catch him live.

I grabbed Guit-With It because I recognized that tune that I liked as "Guit Steel Blues". I love his fingers on that one.

LMAO@ the tune called "My Wife Thinks Your Dead". Lyrics are pretty funny. And how great is it hearing Jimmy Vaughn on there?

JUNIOR plays AUSTIN alot and kicked it with both VAUGHAN boys. Would have KILLED to have seen him cuttin' heads with SRV!!!
You gotta see the guy live. As good as he is in the studio, he is KILLER live. He did a GAP commercial and an ICE TEA spot as well. But, not being YOUNG COUNTRY, he kinda got lost in the shuffle again. Doesn't matter though, he makes his opinion of the NASHVILLE establishment known during his show.

I've seen him a number of times.

In fact I saw him this summer. Sadly, there were only about 50 people there, but there were about 1000 down the street watching some shit-ass cover band.
