I'd like to know somethin:
What does the 1984 tour logo mean ? Y'know, the guy pointing his finger...

Thanks a million in advance

From the Van Halen Encyclopedia:

"Van Halen also claimed that rather than have the tour sponsored by some corporation, they would be the first band to sponsor a company for a tour. Western Exterminator, based in Los Angeles, CA, got the nod and the band used their mallet-bearing (finger-pointing) mascot in a top hat and tuxedo everywhere they could, including on the stage backdrop, backstage passes and a full line of tour clothing and accessories."

Piece: The Little Man w/ the Hammer
Year: 1983
Condition: C - 10
Description: "20" hard plastic,wooden stand
Company: Western Exterminator Co.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once known as "Kernal Kleenup" and "Inspector Homes," this little man with the hammer helped customers identify the Western Exterminator company in their yellow pages.
This figure, designed by Vaughn Kaufman -- an art department employee of the phone company at that time -- became instantly recognizable to consumers. But his name never stuck, and he's known only as "the little man with the hammer," who's about to pounce on that pesky mouse!

Here he's depicted in a very large statuette.

It doesn't mean anything, they obviously just liked it. I drive by that damn building everyday with that huge guy on the side of the building overlooking the freeway.
