Wow he really ruined Van Halen.

Q Magazine taps Pink Floyd as top band
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Big News Network.com Wednesday 13th October, 2004

Britain's Q Magazine named Pink Floyd as the top band of all time based on the group's album sales, concert attendance and number of weeks on music charts.

The band earned the honor for its 1979 album The Wall, which sold more than 23 million copies, for spending 911 weeks -- or more than 17 years -- on the British charts and playing to 125,000 fans at Knebworth Park in 1975, Q Magazine said.

Sales figures for Dark Side of the Moon, an album that reportedly sold more than The Wall, were disqualified because of inaccurate records, XFM.com said Tuesday.

Led Zeppelin ranked second, the Rolling Stones, third, U2, fourth, and Queen took fifth place in the top 50 bands list.

The Beatles came in eighth place and California rockers Van Halen finished out the list as the 50th most popular band.

If this is the edition of Q that I'm thinking of, then there's a pretty good DLR/EVH interview in it from the 1984 tour (they where interviewed justing after playing Donnington)

Makes you wonder where they would have ended up, had David been able to stay.

I think there was a LOT of good stuff left in those guys...
