According to Brave Words, a source "close to the Sammy Hagar camp" has stated that at the end of the Van Halen tour, Hagar will be taking some time off in Cabo and rejoining the Waboritas, but, even though Sammy and Ted are "great friends", there are no plans for Sammy to tour with Ted Nugent in December.

Make of that what you will. Personally, I don't think it means anything; it may be possible that the cat was let out of the bag too early and either Hagar or Nugent called it off, but the blurb still doesn't insinuate anything about the future of Van Halen with Hagar...

In fact, goes to pains to avoid it...

It's relevant in the sense that it adds more fuel to the possibility that Hagar is indeed leaving at the end of December; if not possibly adding more fuel, then at least shedding more light on the current speculation.

I agree.

If the gig with Nugent becomes a reality, the end of Van Hagar and a Classic Van Halen reunion is a step closer to becoming a reality. Particularly if Sammy confirms the rumour that he will also tour with Nugent next US summer. If everything was going well with this reunion, you would think the band would be heading straight for the studio to record some of the '10 albums worth of material' the brothers allegedly have, rather than having their lead singer head back to his solo gig.

Anyway, Sammy's getting too old to do anything with VH from 2006 onwards, so if nothing is happening next year that's got to be the last we'll see of that line-up.

I'm convinced it's over anyway.
