Kerry 15
Junior 15
Nader 1

What's significant about this?

Only 2 registered Democrats in this small town.

2000 results : 78% Bush/19% Gore

Sets a good trend for the day

Leaving for Scranton, PA from Syracuse NY right now. The International Union I work for is staffing a Kerry Headquarter today.

...trying to bring home a key state...

Kerry/Edwards 2004!

Bush is going to win Ohio also.
I don't see much Kerry support in the yards around town. if it has a sign, it has Bush/Cheny on it, lmmfao.

But this is Soutern Ohio, and Northern Ohio are the the results to be watching today.
The North generally votes Liberal, but the polls this year haven't shown even an equal support it had for Gore in 2000 while Bush's numbers have pretty much remained the same.

My guess?
Bush "WINS" Ohio by tonight, and hopefully the registering surge here results in more Conservative votes instead of Liberal one's, so the win is by enough votes not to be contested.

And then there is what the Electorate decides to do of course, lol.

Folks, I don't feel as though we have a choice in this matter, so focus on your local issues where your vote is the number by which they win.

The more i think about it, I still don't like the electoral college....but that's another issue for another thread.

And remember, A great government has to be built from the ground up. That's where we DO decide who sits where, and if one of them makes it to run for President? Chances are they will be one hell of a sight better than the two knuckleheads I just had to choose from this morning.

We could just as easily had two "AWESOME!" people to choose from, but that is a pipe dream apparently.

hey!! f-you you son of a bitc...oh, wait, knuckleHEADS...sorry, my mistake;)

actually, seriously, i can't stress enough how right you are about the local elections. not just on the congress and ballot/bond issues during the presidential elections, but the off-years as well.

state and local governments have a tremendous impact on people, but too many people ignore them. true, on the one hand, local and state officials gain experience that can help them work their way up to national politics, but even if they stay local, their decisions impact our day-to-day lives.

(sorry for the rant, guys...it's just the local government in me bitching:D)

I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that the CIA already has a plant here and that the Secret Service may also be watching.

Or if your question was meant to assess my likeliness to commit suicide in the extremely unlikely event of a Bush Jr win, that's not going to happen. Been there, done that, burned the T-shirts.

Yet another update, and it doesn't look good for Kerry if this is indicative of the nation (Like Ford's implying):

Hamlet Casts First Votes of Election

HART'S LOCATION, N.H. — The nation's first Election Day votes were cast and counted just after midnight in a pair of mountain hamlets, with 35 votes for President Bush besting challenger John Kerry's (search) 21. Ralph Nader received one vote.

The first Tuesday votes came from the northern New Hampshire community of Hart's Location, where 16 voters chose Bush, 14 went with Kerry and one chose Nader. Minutes later, the 26 registered voters in Dixville Notch, about 50 miles to the north, split 19 for Bush and 7 for Kerry.

The tiny communities since 1948 sporadically have been taking advantage of a state law that allows communities to close polls early if all registered voters have cast ballots.

In 2000, both communities chose President Bush over Democrat Al Gore (search). In Hart's Location, Bush won 17-13. In Dixville Notch, about 50 miles to the north, Bush had 21, Gore five and Ralph Nader one vote.

By state law, polls must be open between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. But nothing prevents a town from opening the polls earlier and closing after all potential voters have cast ballots.

:D You can add my homestate of MICHIGAN to that list, too! As of early this morning, the state is still 'up in the air' for either candidate! That's 17 electoral votes, y'all (and a "Battle Ground" state to boot!)

The only area that's predominately Democrat is the Metro Detroit area. The state is very conservative.

Come ON fellow Michiganians! VOTE FOR DUBYA!!!!
