New album for Dave in 2005?

My friends son showed me a new interview with John Lowery(aka John 5) in the recent addition of Metal Edge. He talks about Dave but also mentions he's still writing for him. Hopefully we'll see a new album and tour.

John wrote a shitload of great stuff (and played awesomely) on DLR BAND. Here's hoping that since he was kicked out of Manson's band (a shame, I actually like Manson), he's working with Diamond Dave again.

"...i met the band at the casino bar after the show...all were cool and we spoke for a very long time. The band is doing warm-up gigs right now for an extensive tour in 2005...Brian and Toshi both confirmed South America and European dates and that they will make an extensive U.S. /Canada tour in the new year...in fact, Ray Luzier said that Dave wants to head to Massey Hall next time..he remembers his early days in VH when the band played there in '78(great memory, eh?). Dave will also be releasing a live DVD in late 2005 with backstage footage (Brian says they have hours of tape in the vault!)"

A Toronto Massey Hall show would be fucking stellar.

This is damn good news. One of the reasons why DLRBand was an absolute masterstroke was the fact that Dave found a guitarist that matched old Eddie Van Halen and absolutely left modern EVH in the dust. The riffs and solos on "Relentless," "King of the Hill," and "Little Texas," alone, buried anything on VH-IIIrd rate and the new Van Hagar songs. Lowery brought an energy to the guitar that ranks with Ed's work on I, II, and Fair Warning.
The Fat Lady is singing for Van Hagar.

Dave has to record a new studio album ..full of originals
emulating the VH sound .....he has to do it
so he can bury EVH for ever and show the world he doesn't need him

emulating the VH sound... I say burying it!

That is good news, especially the part about the vault. At least someones vault is not bare.
