T.Rex / Marc Bolan

Anyone else ever listen to these guys? They were great. Bolan was a genius.

And I'm not talking GET IT ON. I mean songs like PLANET QUEEN, NEW YORK CITY, THE SLIDER, CHILDREN OF THE REVOLUTION, 20TH CENTURY BOY...

Absolutely legendry band, in the UK we have an amazing Tribute band to them called T-Rextasy. Exacly like the real band, they usually open with a quality version of 20th Century Boy

t-rex are one of my fav bands as atomic rob said if ur in the uk and t-rextasy are touring there well worth checking out. i have quite a bit of there stuff as t-rex but im looking into getting there early stuff when they were tranasourus rex (i no thats no the spelling) my fav song by them is proberly crimson moon.

Man, I love both albums. Also check out the ZINC ALLOY album from 1974. THE AVENGERS (SUPERBAD) is one of the funkiest things ever recorded. And NEW YORK CITY (a single from 1976) is just one of the best rock and roll songs ever recorded.

ROCK ON from THE SLIDER album is one of my all-time favorite songs.

Too bad this T-Rextasy tribute band never tours in Canada (or America). The band is more an underground thing here...people know them mostly for GET IT ON. And that's not anywhere near one of their really good songs.

I have to say I'm not one for track names with T-rex, I've heard most of the stuff I've heard by them from loss of fools. But I've got one of their Best Of's - The white one with Marc and the bongo bloke. Another song I believe - Sensation boulevard or something?

Is this a BEST OF from their early stuff? I haven't heard too much of the early folky stuff. I guess I know them more from ELECTRIC WARRIOR on.
