We had made a complaint last night about the performance of the server, next thing we know they said they were upgrading it.

It should be ok but it seems to be taking a bit longer than I would have expected.

To be honest if it was a business I would have sacked them after the last time when they claimed a virus did it(oldest excuse in the book and I should know), but with no revenue streams we have to go for as much bandwidth as we can at the lowest cost.

Pay peanuts, get monkeys type thing but don't quote me on that...:)

I'm not averse to posting here. The Army was my first Roth site, so to dislike it would be dumb, at best. Both the Army and DDLR are pretty much the ONLY real Roth sites on the net; Dave's official site is shit. The other fly by night sites are stagnant imitations. I've surfed Roth sites that haven't been updated since 1999 for chrissakes!

I see both sites as a Roth-flavored "Animal House". The Army is like the Delta House: raw, rowdy, loud and one helluva party. DDLR is like the university dean: straight-laced, austere, and more focused on the music. They're yin and yang. Sometimes I like to 'Let It All Hang Out' and have a free-wheeling good time (Roth Army.) Sometimes I like to feed my bookworm dweeb side with 'just the facts, M'am' surfing (DDLR.)

I like them both. I surf them both. Just surfing one is not enough for me now, because I'm not a one-dimensional person. I used to feel the same way you did about site preference, and a year ago I wouldn't have liked to hear an Army member post a comment like SensibleShoes made. Now? That shit would just roll off of my back, because both sites compliment each other, like it or not.


It would be a shame if both sites weren't available. We are Rothaholics and it's cool we have two great places to celebrate David Lee Roth and Classic Van Halen.
