    The EVH 90 Phase Shifter

Need to find something? Let the Musician's Friend site map guide you to the products you're looking for.

A collaboration between Dunlop and Edward Van Valen.

The EVH 90 Phase Shifter is a limited-edition version of the legendary MXR Phase 90. The Phase 90 was instrumental in creating the guitar tones on the early Van Halen records; the swirling, spacey sound on such songs as "Eruption," "Atomic Punk," and "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love." The EVH 90 captures the warm, hypnotic tone of the vintage "script logo" Phase 90, and with the flip of a switch also delivers an intense, edgier phase tone. It features rock-solid internal construction and an indestructible enclosure to ensure years of flawless performance. Add to this the Van Halen-approved striped graphics from the guitar that changed the world and you have a truly unique piece of rock history.

Our only hope, Eddie is short of money.

I have the standard issue Dunlop MXR Phase 90 and it sounds just fine to me.

I have an original 70's script logo MXR (bought in 1984) and I still see no need to get another.

Fck... what's next? Striped bottles of Heineken?

EVH pedal.......would have been a great idea in 1984, not 2004!!!

it's the same as the standard mxr90 but it's got the R28 modification, i.e. it's got a resistor removed, and a blue LED

...and costs about 80% more than the standard pedal

seems like a deal to me

Sound Control (a UK Music Shop) are selling these things for £20 cheaper than the standard MXR Phase 90 pedal's at the minute.

I was surprised by that myself Grimsdale, but the guys showed me there price list and there it was in black and white, £20 cheaper. Apparently alot of people over here are put off by the paint job on the EVH one, so they've had to lower the price to help shift it.

                        I hate that paint job...

Paint it orange and it will sound better...

I've heard they sound very much like the ones from the 70's (Ed's original one).
