By REBECCA COOK, Associated Press Writer

SEATTLE - Democrat Christine Gregoire won the Washington governor's race by 130 votes out of 2.9 million ballots cast, according to final recount results announced Thursday from Seattle's King County, the last of the state's 39 counties to report.

_

Hundreds of belatedly discovered ballots helped extend what otherwise would have been just a 10-vote advantage for Gregoire in her topsy-turvy race with Republican Dino Rossi. The first ballot count showed Rossi winning by 261 votes, and a subsequent machine recount had Rossi winning by 42. The latest recount was conducted by hand.

"Wooo-hooo!" exulted state Democratic Party spokeswoman Kirstin Brost moments after the results were announced. "We're very excited. We always believed she would win."

Secretary of State Sam Reed is scheduled to certify the election Dec. 30. After that, the election results probably will be challenged in court, or possibly the Legislature.

State law allows any registered voter to challenge election results, and Republicans have begun asking that elections officials reconsider votes for Rossi that they say were wrongly rejected.

"We're going to be going across the state demanding they make every vote count," Rossi spokeswoman Mary Lane said earlier Thursday.

Since Election Day, Gregoire has gone from favorite to underdog and back to favorite.

A three-term state attorney general, Gregoire, 57, was widely viewed as the anointed successor to Democrat Gov. Gary Locke. Rossi, 45, a real estate agent and former state senator, jumped into the race only after the GOP's first three choices declined to run.

Washington is a blue state — Democrats hold the majority in the Legislature, both U.S. senators are Democrats, and John Kerry (news - web sites) won 53 percent of the statewide vote. But Washington voters also flaunt a strong independent streak, and Rossi's sunny message of change caught on with swing voters.

Gregoire and Rossi spent about $6 million each during the campaign, a new state record, and outside groups spent millions more.

After Rossi won the first two counts, Democrats paid $730,000 for the hand recount. By law the state has to repay the party if the recount reverses the results.

"We asked for a hand count because we knew machines make mistakes," Brost said.

During the hand recount, King County election officials discovered that hundreds of ballots had been mistakenly rejected because of problems with how the voters' signatures had been scanned into the computer system. Over Republican objections, the state Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that state law allows county canvassing boards to correct mistakes in the returns, allowing King County to count those 732 ballots.

Election officials found 566 of those ballots to be valid; 311 were for Gregoire, 191 for Rossi.

On Thursday morning, Republicans submitted affidavits to King County elections officials from 91 people who voted for Rossi and believe their ballots were erroneously rejected.

Dean Logan, the county's elections director and one of three members on its canvassing board, said those ballots would not be re-evaluated because they had been properly considered and rejected.

Despite Republicans' requests, most auditors statewide have decided not to reconsider rejected ballots, said Corky Mattingly, Yakima County's auditor and president of the Washington State Association of County Auditors.

_

The auditors agree with Reed, a Republican, that state law prohibits counties from recanvassing after their results have been certified, Mattingly said.

"This is the end," Mattingly said Thursday. "You don't just keep recertifying and recertifying."

Republicans also have accused King County of failing to send absentee ballots to military voters or sending them too late, and they want that mistake corrected, too. Logan said all absentee ballots were sent out on time, including those to military voters.

"You will continue to hear accusations of fraud, of changing rules, of manufactured votes," Logan said Thursday, addressing rumors that have been flying on local blogs and talk radio. "I believe the record shows most of these allegations, if not all of them, are totally untrue."

An election challenge could go through state courts or possibly to the state Legislature — experts disagree on what the law says. If the losing side alleges possible violations of the equal protection clause in the U.S. Constitution, the election could end up in federal court.

"The (state) Supreme Court just changed the rules," state GOP Chairman Chris Vance said Wednesday. "Now we will aggressively fight by those new rules."

If further legal wrangling holds up the Jan. 12 inauguration of a new governor, Locke may have to stay. Locke has made it clear he is not interested in hanging around.

Having been born and raised here in Washington, and spending most of my adult life here, I've seen the inhabitants of Olympia run the gamut. But frankly, this was a case of THE EVIL OF TWO LESSERS.

CG was a shitty AG in my opinion, but DR was nothing more than a Junior Republican Pimp.

Although it was fun watching the two sides go at it, if I never see Chris Vance's whiney face again I'll be happy.

If nothing less, it shows that for all of the technology and "superpowerness" this country holds, we can't do something as simple as get a fucking count right.

Major election reform is coming in this country. It just took the Republicants getting screwed to make it happen. Thet were fine with the status quo as long as it was THEM doing the screwing. Now that they took one up the ass, things will start to change.

WHAT'S AHEAD: Republicans aren't conceding yet. They've started by asking all counties to reconsider rejected ballots; failing that, the election appears headed to the courts.

The country will divide up.

In the future the "red" south will have it's own President. The south will not be able to go to war without the "blue" country and it's President. The "red" south can have the "red" west, because all of that land has nothing of value, no commodities, and the UN Heritage zone has taken over all of those lands not privately owned which is mostly everything. The "red" new south country can have the worthless "red" West as well.

The "blue" West Coast and Hawaii will become independent from the "south" and "west" red states and Washington D.C.. The West Coast led by California will become an independent nation state.

Hawaii is different. First of all, Hawaii's gone. Hawaii will become an independent country in the near future no matter what happens on the continental soil and Hawaii is saying it may bring back the monarchy bloodline. Hawians have been saying this for over the past 15 years.

In 5 years the "north" will be independently operating due to manufactured Shadow Government terror again on U.S. soil. The North Midwest will not bow to the Shadow Government's police state and global war that has the "south" county brainwashed ever since the "South" was financed by the House of Rothschild to separate from the Union to fight for their Civil War.

There see, now you know who runs the world in the background. It wasn't the Confederate President Jefferson Davis. It wasn't Robert E. Lee. It wasn't the Confederates. The American civil war was the plan of the European banking House of Rotchschild to DESTROY a growing world power "UNITED" State for the purpose of reaping the wealth and all of the prosperity to come from AMERICAN WESTERN EXPANSION.

Ask any black man that. The American black man knows the civil wars was started and fought over who (the European House of Rothschild and their Confederate puppets) would get the commodities, wealth, and power from AMERICAN WESTERN EXPANSION.

Hey, what do you know America had two Presidents already thanks to England, France, and the House of Rothschild that OWNS England and France.

And now America is going to do what it should have done 150 years ago. The U.S. cannot remain as one great last remaining world power, especially bringing the world to the brink of world war with it's monopoly on power.

The fall of America by design, by Presidents, senators, and a host of "useful idiots" who are all puppets rewarded by the Rotchschilds and Rockefellers who own America (i.e., through their private Federal Reserve Bank and world Central banks the Rockefellers and Rothschilds OWN America and the other countries they have their privately owne cental banks in -- David R. is very busy at the meetings for their "one world government" that Dave is quoted saying since 1972 -- to talk of giving up American "soverienty" to a "one world government" is OPEN TREASON, but I don't see David going to jail for his CONSPIRACY TO OVERTHROW THE U.S.A. FOR A "ONE WORLD GOVERNEMTN").

The world knows it and the UN with their Russian and Chineses growing countries sucking up oil, steel, and all the world's limited commoditites want a powerful U.S. of America DESTROYED. (sic)

And Bush and Clinton have given the "invitation" and with a manufactured "terror" attack the "excuse" to come here and point guns at you for your own good.

It's all set up in the laws the congress and the President have been ordering for the transition of the soverienty of the United States of America to be turned over to a "one world government" that Henry Kissinger is quoted as say the Ameican people, "...vill velcome UN troops."

Kissninger as a Nazi and now as a globalist has known that America must must be divided since he was a young man in a German Nazi uniform working as a "useful idiot" of the "one world government" then.

And they all know America must be divided from within so that the faux U.S. President can call in Russian (trained in Bosnia and on U.S. soil) and Chinese UN "foreign assets" to quell "civil unrest" as quoted directly from King George I's EO to that effect.

What's that EO all about?

And then Clinton signed an EO that puts U.S. troops under the command of "foreign" commanders authority to...patrol our own America.

Bush and PNAC and all of the "globalist" one world government operatives and agents (Democrats, too) are seeing to it that this does happen. Look at everything the Republican and Democatic Presidents have done and signed into faux law via Presidential EO's. A EO created the multi-billion dollar faux shadow U.S. government currently called FEMA.

Just a litte Presidential EO did that.

The Russian troops are here via Bosnia and the Royal Gurkas have been here training on U.S. soil since the mid-'90's.

Don't ask for an "article."

If you don't know it it's to late for you.

Fuck you.

Let the rednecks in the south have their own President (Bush) and see what they can do waging war on the planet without the "north." Not much.

And that's what Russia and China and the UN wants to do to a powerful America that MISUSES it's greatest power in the world to fight a war for businessmen's profits, not for our freedoms or for our safety after 9/11. John Kerry's campaign had the chance to education you week by week about what the American media won't tell the American people weekly, and that's is that the U.S. brave troops fighting for their country had Osama and his "base" trapped in Tora Bora, and old coke head Bushy, President of the "south" and sparcely populated "west" called the offensive off. That's insane.

That's what the whole going to "war" and KILLING and DYING in the Middle East was/is all about. Getting Osama and al-Queda. That's what the American people want and the U.S.'s fighting boys who initially prepared for war, killing and dying, and went to the Middle East wanted to do, but it's not what the businessmen civilians of the PNAC group want.

And you know the little PNAC group of businessmen and their profits is much more important than the American people who pay taxes for a military to protect them and not ti use their tax dollars and soldiers' blood, death, and sacrifices for corporate profits.

The U.S. taxpayers built up, standing ready military has always been for protecting the American people from danger to life and limb protecting the nation (i.e., never the "Homeland").

It's there in your face. The writing's on the wall.

That's enough.

I'm done for now.

Use these months of 2005 to have your own fresh water, food, shelter, and arms. Forget your stocks. They're history. The actual "VALUE" of Wall Street is 6,500 and not the 10,000 public mark.

And then you must factor in the 30% further decline in the U.S. dollar in only 12 months so the REAL "value" of the U.S. stock market is a crippling 3,200 in value (or, 6,500 minus 30% in U.S. dollar "value").

We are poor as a nation, but they've cooked the books for the mainstream media audience to think after ALL THIS "we're back in the green at over 10,000." We're not. It's fake. It's manufactured. It's going to collapse. It's manufactured to collapse and they know it. They manufactured it. Now you know it, too.

Have a Happy One World Government day, y'all in the "south." You (the south) took the Rothschild's money once before to split up this greatest nation (i.e., not "Homeland") on earth and you're taking it again. We've seen all the cameras in Atlanta. You're going to be an independent nation, or "Homeland," and occupied by UN troops from Russia and China.

See, the globalists, including the American globalists, corporations, Presidents, senators, and the host of one world government "useful idiots" see a need to level out Russia, America, and China, and America is to powerful and strong so Russia and China must "cut down" America to level out with their totalitarian, socialist, communist societies with America. So, America must be broght down.

And GW is willing giving the world the excuse to do just that via a "terror" attack while the boys and troopers are all overseas fighting wars the "central banks" and their "central banks world power." They can't have it with a strong and sovereign nation of people in the world like the United States.

So the United States has to go.

And that means YOU, U.S. citizen. You are about to be leveled off with the Russians and Chinese, and they're going to be "invited" here to do that. Sounds good doesn't it.

It's later than you think.

I would have rather had Ron Sims, but I can't see how Gregoire could be worse than Rossi. Or worse than Locke, for that matter, who has been a most unimpressive governor for the most part.

Damn DLC'ers anyway.

Does it trouble you, Dave, that King County magically came up with enough ballots for Gregoire to win?

How is this any different from the election "fraud" you were bitching about in the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections?

The bottom line is that she will have NO mandate, and no credibility. It's a wasted 4 years.

What was "magical" about it? The ballots were there all along, they were just rejected by the machine for whatever reason. Proof again that machines - of any kind - cannot be the bechmark of accurate voting.

As for a "mandate", she has as much right to claim one as Junior did. And he certainly DID claim one. Only difference is there won't be any media backing her up. KOMO and KING are so blatantly pro Rossi that you can read the contempt on their faces every time they have to read the recent vote counts.

What are you smoking? The ballots were "lost," and were "found" only after Gregoire paid $750,000 for a hand recount (the majority of which was paid by the Kerry campaign)!

The Washington Supreme Court created new law on this one. There was, and is, NO LEGAL BASIS to count additional ballots on a recount. I wonder how many arms Sanders had to twist to get a unanimous vote.

I don't believe Junior had the right to claim a "mandate" either, just to be clear. And although I disagree that KOMO and KING are pro-Rossi, it wouldn't surprise me. The Seattle Times (one of the more progressive papers in the nation) endorsed Rossi in this election. What does that say about how weak of a candidate Gregoire is??

The whole thing is just disgusting.

I hear what you're saying. I normally vote Democratic, but in this case I couldn't bring myself to vote for Gregoire.

The latest in the news is that the Republicans have demanded a bunch of documents from King County via a public records request, and want to read Dean Logan's emails over the last three months. This could get interesting. :D
