Sup kristy ... I have a sister in Boulder ... her hubby is a fireman ... you being from there just added a 5 star rating ...

I may or may not keep the chorus ... would get the latest from MXR ... along switching for a 10 band EQ and noisegate ...

            noisegate
            EQ
            phaser
            chorus
            flanger
            delay
            reverb

The last 5 of these effects are time-based pedals (delays). How you mix them in the signal chain best is anybodys guess because each will add some boosted gain strength to it, which should be dialed back as only the user will find a happy medium.

I wouldn't need all that shit myself. I'd keep that chorus and flanger, and ditch the others. They're not necessary IMO>

If I happen to see your sis, I'll tell her hi.

As a matter of fact, I have a few Boss pedels I'm trying to get rid of - for cheap! Some are mint condition but problem is, who in the fuck would want 'em?

I always put the EQ last in the chain going into the amp, the rest is just trial and error because different players hear things differently.

Sometimes one pedal will have an adverse effect on the workability of another, so just go through them one at a time, set them where you want them, then experiment with placement until you find a happy medium with the least amount of noise.
Let me point out that noise gates have never impressed me in the least so i refused to use them in pedal form.

My set-up is all 80's rackmount gear anyway.
My compressor has a built in noise gate that works the way i always envisioned them to work.

I've always put noise gates after all effects and before any reverb or delay...simply because you're going to acquire noise with each subsequent pedal you put in, and it just doesn't seem to make sense to put a noise gate at the front end...you don't have any noise yet. Actually, I would never use a pedal for reverb like that....reverb generally sounds like ass before you go into your amp...put it on an effects loops.

Here's the way I normally do floor effects...

                  wah-wah---->flanger---->phase----->chorus------>Hush (sometimes)--->delay.

                    Wow !

Some negativitah towards teh boss pedals in this thread.
Some of the better stomp boxes I have owned were BOSS.

Question, if you hate your BOSS pedals what would you
replace them with, (entire range, not just single pedals).

                    Entire range with MXR ??

                    Entire range with Ibanez ??

                    Entire range with DoD ??

just interested, I have pedals from all manufacturers
but have been really happy with several of my BOSS
                    pedals... CS-1 DS-1 HM-2 DD3.....

Julia I'll give ya $40, so I can have a backup...

I dont use the effects that much as a rule..

if you're hating your boss pedals, are you sure you're just not hating the effects in general? Guitar straight into amp is always refreshing.

Yeah, what exactly is the deal with hating BOSS pedals? I, like my Aussie twin Panamark, love the Boss HM-2. It is so cool with its orange and black color scheme...reminds me of Halloween. It is probably my favorite distortion pedal of all time, because the tone just simply kicks ass and is versatile as hell.

I suppose they make fun toys, because they kick around onstage like kickballs with little tethers on 'em by and of themselves.

HAS ANYONE here done this: Tape down a Boss pedal so it doesn't roll around, only to step on it the wrong way and have it TILT OVER and bust the metal sleeved barrel from the end of the cord - snapping the tip off into the pedal like the way a chimp digs a twig into a mound of termites to draw them out to chew on?

Boss pedals sound good but arent very durable with my own big slovenly feet..

(rolls eyes.. then rolls Eyes while he's durnk for his aluminum cans money)
