View Full Version : EEAS 8-Track
Found this on the net, it's a scan of an EEAS 8 track tape...
They're a bit before my time, so I know nothing about these things....

Damn smaz, your making me feel old! :D
Your lucky that you weren't exposed to eight tracks! They'd get stuck in the player and out came a mile of tape!

If you ever tried falling asleep with one playing, the loud "ka-chunk" when it changed tracks would drive ya awake.

That must have been one of the last * tracks made as they have been considered dead for many many years now. Cool to see that though. I never had an 8 track or understood how they worked.

that's how I felt when my daughter once picked a vinyl record and said to me "look, daddy, a big CD..."

It was called '8 Track' 'cause somehow they managed to fit '8 sides' on one thin tape, without flipping it over ( ! ). I'm still amazed that they were able to do that, as the tape itself was no larger than a traditional cassette! But the sound sucked the worst of all medias....if you thought that cassette hiss or record pops were annoying....you've obviously never heard 8-Track hiss...now that's annoying....!

Mean either, but it always seemed that way with eight tracks that the song listings would be just a little different from the albums. Maybe because of time constraints per track??? I dunno.
Natra, that was funny what you said about your daughter thinking an album was a big CD!! :D

Hahaha!!
As for the tracklisting being different, the site that I found that on said it was something about trying to avoid the "ka-chunk"s or when it changes tracks, so that songs weren't interrupted. But don't ask me, I can just skip to the track I want on my CD-Player.... :D
