I recently saw the Pretty Woman video on VH1 Classic. It was the best thing I have ever seen. I love the role playing. I wish they would air the "So this is Love?" video. "Got myself a brand new Oakland scarf right here I said".

Got an old VHS tape that has 3 live vids from '79.
Actually, I think it has about EVERY vid the MIGHTY VAN HALEN ever did on it. "And the craddle will Rock" & "You really Got Me" on some American Bandstand like show. VH lip-syncin'! FUCKING FUNNY!!!

Naw. Record store in Detroit. If I ever get around to gettin' a second VCR, I'll dub 'em for those interested. It's gonna be a while, though.

There's also a vid floating around on DC++ entitled "Van Halen Rareties", that includes vids from 1978 all the way to 1984. Promos, live, TV and MTV.

I have a few of those VH compliations videos. Only one has the video for Loss of Control. It's pretty grainy though. It was a concept/performance video. Anyone else seen it or have a good copy?

I've finally got a copy that is in color with no grain (only took 15 years).
Its on a compilation DVD.
I'll check it out later and get back to ya.

Just read an interview (83/84) where Ed praises Dave and all the contributions to Diver Down. Ed mentions that Ed writes most if not all the music for VH, from the first album to date, but Dave writes almost ALL the lyrics. Ed praises Diver Down and says "I like all the songs on DD, but my fav's are Secrets and Cathedral, hell I even love Happy Trails. Dancin' in the Streets was Dave's idea, he gave me an original copy and told me to put my guitar to it- I fell in love with it and it took all of three takes! The whole album took 12 days- and originally it was supposed to be one song promo for that year. $46,ooo later and the album is made. Cheapest yet for us."

Hmm.... More lies? I thought Dancin' was Ed's least fav. I thought Dave didn't contribute much lyrically to the band? Ed... You sir, are full of shit- and that's why Van Halen fans are in the thousands and not in the millions.

I thought PW was very funny.

remember the days when VH didn't take themselves so friggin' seriously...

I always ranked DD as one of my fav VH albums. I guess because they are the only band to be able to do something so drastically different than others. Cheers to the old days.
