Okay, all you KISS fans come out of the woodworks now and ram your black nail-polished hand down on the table and declare your favorite KISS album and why!

And please, no stupid replies saying: "None of them."

Me...I gotta go with HOTTER THAN HELL. I love so many KISS albums, but this one is probably most special to me because even with its shitty production, it's the rawest and most street-sounding release they have. Songs like WATCHIN' YOU, MAINLINE, ALL THE WAY, STRANGE WAYS, PARASITE and GOIN' BLIND are classic. This really sounds like a band ready to beat the shit out of you when they're done playing. And this is before they became too poppy (not that I minded their poppy stuff, but this is better).

Kiss Alive 1. They never had a decent sounding studio album with the original line up. I did like the guitar tone on CALLING DR. LOVE though.

'Destroyer' or 'Dressed to Kill'

'Revenge' and 'Lick It Up' are also decent discs from the sans-Make Up eras of the band.

I love it because it is full of great songs that play on all of Kiss`s strengths and doesn`t have the grandiose pretentions of "Destroyer" or the cross-over of "Dynasty". It may only last for about 30 minutes but it is a real goodtime rock n roll album. Every song is a winner, then it all winds up with "Rock n roll all nite". Also, the band sound hot after the poor studio sound of "Kiss" and "Hotter than hell". Fantastic!

Cool Rikk, major Kiss fan here. My fave has always been RARO. HTH is definitely right up there, but the production cant be over looked on that one. It sounds like they're playing in a garbage can or something. RARO was Kiss at the peak of their powers, larger than life right before the overmerchandising etc. took over. The first 8 albums are absolutely untouchable, and even Dynasty gets a bit of a bad rap. Ace's stuff on that album is great........Asylum is garbage Badguy, I'm shocked whenever anybody defends that one. In fact Asylum , Crazy Nights, and HITS should all be put out of print.
