what are Frank Zappa's best albums?

I have Hot Rats and that's a pretty good album but I'm wondering if any other albums are really worth shelling out the money for. I don't know the band all that well, so I thought I'd ask some veterans.

"Sheik Yerbouti" is a worthy addition to any collection.

"Sheik Yerbouti" is a fucking HILARIOUS.

"Joe's Garage" is simply probably the best ALBUM of ALL TIME>

      "Them Or US" is incredible.

"Ship Too Late To Save a Drowning Witch" is very Musically top notch.

Joe's garage is a lot of fun.

Them or Us and Ship both feature Steve Vai (the former even features "Stevie's Spanking"). Both albums have their moments, and both have some redundant filler.

Of the two, Them or Us has more stuff, but Ship is more fun.

(funnily, out of nowhere, I started humming "In France" earlier today, and I haven't listened to that song or album (T or U) in YEARS.

"Have I Offended Anyone?" is a good compilation of his goofier stuff. "Catholic Girls" from Joe's is included, and is maybe a good starting point.

(This album doesn't really emphasize Zappa's guitar or compositional skills obviously, but if you're interested in him primarily for his humor, this might be the one)
