NEW YORK (AP) -- Maurice Clarett and Mike Williams can rest easy. They're on the list.

Clarett and Williams were among 49 underclassmen granted early entry into the NFL draft on Wednesday. Players needed to file paperwork with the league by Jan. 15 and had until Wednesday to remove their names from consideration.

Other prominent names included junior quarterbacks Alex Smith of Utah and Aaron Rodgers of California. Running backs and defensive backs dominated the list, with 11 of each leaving school early.

It's been two long years for Clarett, the talented running back who was suspended before his sophomore season at Ohio State for NCAA violations and never returned. Clarett initially won a ruling to enter the draft last year, but the decision was reversed by an appeals court.

Williams, then a sophomore wide receiver at Southern California, declared for the draft after a lower court ruled in Clarett's favor. After the reversal, he was not allowed to return to the Trojans, so he sat out last season.

The NFL draft takes place April 23-24.

Fuck Clarett...overrated motherfucker...

can't wait to see the pain he causes the team that drafts him...

he isn't even as GOOD as Lawrence Phillips...lmfao...

I agree with that, before the pros Phillips was a monster.

We'll see if Clarett can match up with Phillips off the field...

I can't say it enough...no quality in college...off the field...

we'll come back every time...

Wonder what CFL owners are already scrambling.

:D

lmfao...they should be...

on the RB front...I wonder who is going to start in Denver...Bell or Griffin...

and wonder if the Bucs are serious about Henry...

ALinChainz

Bell in Denver.

Rudi will more than likely be on the market.

Droughns and Henry both want to land somewhere before Alexander and James hit the market.

I cannot believe that Cincy's going to let Rudi go...

no offense...

but that fucking bonehead behind him on the depth charts isn't worth a shit...

Henry better hurry up...while the market's high on him...and before Droughns (who's not better...just in a better system) steals the best slot...

Amazing what some of these guys become after they leave for the pros.

Terrell is another guy who seems to think he is way more than he is before ever proving it in the league.

POJO_Risin

I liked Terrell...

but again...good? Or a product of Denver's superior gameplans...

David Terrell ... the solid WR for the Wolverines who is now a current dipshit with the Bears. Perry, who reported late and couldn't really take advantage when they were giving him some carries while he was healthy. Johnson proved he was the clear #1, but may move on.

The Michigan players that move on to be great pros are just as many as the ones who become quite ordinary and sometimes nothing.

fuckin' Brady...that ratbastard...

Trust me...Michigan players far exceed the shit that comes out of OSU...

IE...

Maurice Clarett...lmfao...

lol ... I know.

I remember being real ho-hum about this guy at Michigan, he didn't really fire many of us up.

Griese was there, we didn't even care, just win.

6th round pick, like Tereell Davis, who can ever know.

That would be the National Championship Winners...THE Ohio State University...

I'm amazed that Williams is even questioned at top 10...he's top 5...probably the best receiver in the draft...

and not that bum that's coming out of Michigan...Edwards? Braylon?

whatever the fuck his name is...

You mean .. the 2004 Fred Belitnikoff Winner for the nation's best WR.

Yeah, that would be Edwards.

Since 1817, The University of Michigan.

:D If hes anything like Terell, he aint worthy of
the 1st round. Id take a Florida or Cali reciever anyday over
big ten no offense guys.;) the last good one was Chris Carter, think
about it.. Tim Brown was at ND right? lol:cool:

Tech Memorial alumni...and a field named after him...amen...

as for OSU receivers...let's see...there are good ones in the NFL...nothing to brag about though...similar to Terell in failure...

you've got Galloway, Glenn and Boston...all of which had great years...but are head cases...

Michael Jenkins who could develop...but nothing to shout about...

I think edwards will be good...I'd take the former USC wideout before him...unfortunately for him...and fortunately for some team...that won't happen...and he'll be a steal for someone...

Christ...those OSU receivers are like the freakin' lineup for the usual suspects...lmfao...

Seems like both schools put out some lineman though.

LBs, OSU has the edge.

DBs could be a toss up.

RBs, OSU.

WRs, maybe slight edge to OSU, but close, U of M in quanity.

QBs, U of M.

And damn it, thought I had Fred's last name right, bastards. :D

Nah, I'm not as hostile as our OSU-loving colleague....

Surprisingly though, back to Freddy B, he's one of the very few athletes in the Erie area to go pro.... You'd think a town of 200,000 could produce a pro or two every so often....

I guess you could count Mark Stepnoski, who went to Prep and Pitt....

There's been a few pro baseball players from Meadville, most recently Todd Erdos, and back in the 70's/80's, the twins Lynn and Darrell Jones (and if I knew how much they wanted lefties and knuckleballers back then, me !!)..

Who was the guy that played for the Cards...one of Whitey's boys....he was from Meadville I believe...played in some of Whitey's playoff teams...was a utility guy if I remember...can't remember his name...

I don't remember any of the Cardinals back then who were from there...

Lynn Jones played for Detroit and K.C from '79 to '86.....

Darryl played for the Yankees in '79....

Actually, there are several who are from Erie and Meadville, quite a few of them very old...

The one from Erie that stands out for me is Tom Lawless from the Reds....

Yeah...Lawless was the guy I was thinking of...played for the Cards in the playoffs in 85 and 87...

I'm pretty sure he was from Meadville...I remember reading an article about him in the Times...and I coulda sworn he was from Meadville...

Just like Freddy B... ;)

I found the article last night that said he was from Meadville...took me awhile...I'll find it and link it here...

he was born in Erie...but it said his high school was Meadville...
