Civic Auditorium, Pasadena: Dec. 20... 1977?

This is the very first boot I got, in 1995, "The Atomic Punks". It's still my favorite, the sound is REALLY excellent. You must have got it too, I think. If you haven't, I'll have you and everybody get it as soon as I've learnt how to upload somthing. But I believe it's a bootleg classic.

Anyway, my question is: can it truly be December 1977? D.O.A. and "Somebody Get Me A Doctor" appear on VHII which were released in 79, so I've always doubted about that.
    What's the truth, Sarge?

The real date for this show is October 15, 1977.

Van Halen had written alot of their songs early on...they played many songs live before any had made it onto an album.
Maybe this is what a heroine addict feels like after getting a long awaited fix, shooting up in the corner of some abandoned building and just not giving a fuck about what the rest of the world thinks...TATTOO"

Thanks so much, Dave's PA Rental. Now I know.

        Damned! The songs were complete!
But then why didn't they include D.O.A. and "Somebody Get Me a Doctor" in the first album, which lasts about 30 minutes?
By the way, I've always regretted the too short duration of CVH albums. The music's always been worth much more than money could buy, but who would have cared 10 mn more or a couple of "bonus" tracks?
Though, I'm conscious that they put as many ideas in one song as lots of bands would put in as many different songs. That may be it. You can't have the butter and the farmer's wife's ass, as we'd say in French.
