I used to live in Memphis and I caught Shawn Lane several times live. He was the fastest player I've ever seen, and I've seen most of the "fast" guys. It's a shame he's no longer with us now.

Shawn was spectacular... I heard his original demo sent to Mike Varney in '83 and it was fucking BANANAS. He did get labelled as a Shredder, and that's kinda too bad because he was much more... too bad about him... You all should watch his instructional videos!! Sick

Not only a gifted guitarist ,he was brilliant on piano as well.
