Thinking about musicians in crappy movies this weekend (because Tough Guys was on - featuring the Chili Peppers) and I was trying to think of othr movies where musicians turn up as musicians. I broke it into two categories:

Playing themselves:
RHCP - Tough Guys
Oingo Boingo - Back To School
Springsteen - High Fidelity
Diamond - Saving Silverman
Elvis Costello - Austin Powers II


Playing a musician not themselves:
Trent Reznor - Light of Day
Vai - Crossroads
Pearl Jam - Singles
Jack White - Cold Mountain
Nelson/Kristoferson - Songwriter.
