What's interesting is how the songs evolved... First he was DESPERATE to get laid.

Jamie's Crying
Beautiful Girls
etc...

By the time MMXLVIIIIV (or something like that) came along, he was much more confident

Until it finally comes to 'Just like Paradise' where he opens with:

"Rockin' steady in her daddy's car..."

Maybe Dave didn't got laid until he released Skyscraper? Just a thought...
