I got these done and uploaded. The quality is a bit better than the previous ones I posted.

I am hosting these on my ISP web space, so if the bandwidth should go through the roof, they may eventually be unavailable.

But what the hell....

Enjoy!

Nawwww...it wasn't really that bad. Sure VH kicked The Sabs ass bad, but that was the first time I got to see Black Sabbath, and they were pretty good....

I would not see Ozzy with Black Sabbath for another 20 years....

I went home after this show, picked up my guitar, and attempted to do some 2-handed tapping...

And the rest is history....

Hey Come on..

Sabbath and Halen. You cant really compare the two.
Two totally different styles.

I remember hearing the Sabbath reunion recordings from
a few years back, and it fucking kills the recent Van Hagar
effort.

Weeelllll...lemme tell ya a story....

1. The only difference stylistically between them at the time was that Van Halen was an L.A. High-Powered Explosive White Hot Party Metal Band (Yes, I considered them to be Metal for the first couple of tours...I said TOURS..not albums, as live they were very much in the vein of Metal...loud guitars, lotsa shouting about sex and getting ripped, etc.) and Black Sabbath was a Birmingham Doom Metal outfit

2. Yes I CAN compare the two, and HAVE compared the two for over 27 years now, as they were on the SAME BILL!

3. Yes, the Black Sabbath Reunion stuff has consistently destroyed Van Hagar. Why? Because it is Van HAGAR NOT 1978-era Van Halen. ANYONE who saw that tour DID WITNESS Black Sabbath getting blown off the stage. Even Tony Iommi AND Ozzy have admitted in many interviews over the past 2 decades that Van Halen was kicking their ass every night on that tour. The Setlists for the Current Black Sabbath shows going on whenever they go out to play Ozzfest, or European Metal Festivals (like they are already confirmed to do this coming summer) are ALL OLDER MATERIAL from the EARLY 70s. The SAME KICKASS STUFF that made them big to begin with. So YES Black Sabbath is still kicking ass!!!
Van Hagar is nothing but a pop band. There is no longer any comparison, because A) Sammy Hagar never was, is not, and never will be a metal artist, B) Edward is the worlds most famous Guitar Hero DRUNK, and C) Van Hagar's set lists are nothing but a buncha "OOH BABEE GIMMEEE ALL YORE LUV TONIIIIITE" pop music bullshit. So to compare Reunion-era Black Sabbth to ANYTHING Van Hagar has ever done is like comparing a 10-ton steam roller to a flower bed.

I was just fortunate to be able to witness a piece of Rock History and have a camera with me at the time.

Cheers, mate!
:D

The only has been (at the time) in Sabbath was Ozzy. Once you removed the cancer from Sabbath, lo and behold, they produced one of the greatest albums ever: Heaven and Hell.

Attacking Tony Iommi is ridiculous. Tony, IMO, can out play Ed any day.

I love how Ozzy claimed that tour convinced him to quit Black Sabbath.

Bwahaha, if "quit" means Bill Ward breaking the bad news that your Sharon loving ass was fired from Sabbath.

Van Hagar was Sammy plagerising Dr. Suess and adding dirty words to the rymes. That song Up for Breakfast was like something a dirty kid in the 2nd Grade would write.

Allright dammit.

I gotta fix this.

See, when I host stuff on my personal ISP page, it only gives me so much bandwidth.

If not today, I will fix it tonight.

When I posted these, there was no good free image hosting site.

Now, they are everywhere.

I have not reposted these since I put them up, so I will solve this fucking problem

Apparently I am over my bandwidth limit for the month, as the photos were displayed last night, and now I cannot see them either.

GRRRRRR!!!

Cool pictures. Really cool to see rare shots like this. Oh how I wish I'd brought a camera to the shows I saw in '81, 82, and '84. Those were the good old days of VH. :high5:

I had thought about bringing a tape recorder in. I had recorded Boston/Spammy Gaygar exactly 2 weeks before (Sept. 15, 1978), and about 2 months previous I recorded Foghat, all at the Seattle Center Coliseum.

Instead I decided for once that I wanted to just bring my camera.

What is really funny is that the photos in the original post are hosted at Bellsouth. I have not had a Bellsouth internet account in 18 months. Seems they just wanna leave the photos there, lol.

Download them while you can. They won't be hosted at Bellsouth.net forever.
