To all of you EU citizens: You are a government now. Please "ask" the U.S. to remove all of it's troops from Europe and start asking it now.

Thank you.

Thy will be done...

:spank:

That would be a great fucking Idea, Phil. The first you've had in a long while. Keep drinking whatever it is in that bottle. Maybe the good IDEAS will keep flowing. :bottle:

I applaud you.

I really do.

Then the Europeons :D can spend more than 2 to 3% of their GDP on Defense. We're protecting their sorry asses now.

They can also start devoting some Euros to R&D for Weapons Development. Hardly "Nada" on that front right now.

Yeah, kick the US military out....Let the Francs, Krauts, Serbs, et al. pay their own way.

:gun:

BTW - the EU is not a govt, but an economic consortium...or so they claim. :gulp:

The EU started out as a trade deal just like NAFTA and FTAA or their coming Pan American Union or AU.

The EU is now a government with elected officials, a constitution, and they are readying their own EU army.

BBB, what economic consortium has it's own laws and army, navy, and air force and space force?

Hmmm?

Shape up, BBB.

It's later than you think.

I agree to a certain extent. They gotta get their ducks in a row because all member states like the UK don't want to yield their national sovereignty to the EU. Who can blame them?

This Euro-Army  the FROGS and Krauts want to get going.

What about NATO?

I guess we'll just shitcan that alliance, huh?

We'll see.

Anyway, France will always be the bitch of the EU alliance. Serving wine and cheese to the PLAYERS (UK, Germany, Poland, Italy).

Wow BigBlunder, what an incredibly simple minded and dated ideas you have. Actually the Germans are rated as one of the most effective Armies in the world despite the fact they draft peaceniks, and the French are not that far behind. They've operated a joint brigade for over 15 years now and seem to get along well, for the most part.

I agree with you to a certain extent, we need to gradually withdraw from Europe, but coming from a guy that wants to send them to Iraq, well, maybe we can learn something from the EU.

Also, I don't understand your point of pride that we spend so much on Nat'l Defense and get so little back. We have an AVF Army and Marine Corp, we spend more on defense than our next six potential adversaries combined, and yet we still have had our ass handed to us to some extent by a group of Baathist insurgents and terrorists that hijacked airliners. I don't know BBB, I'm actually a little embarrassed that we spend 6-7% of our GDP on defense (over $400 billion yearly) and we really get so little in return. I mean the French and German Armies are not really that much smaller than ours at this point, are they?

I say we start charging for our services if we are to remain there. The EU obviously has the resources to provide their own and do. Effecient they may be, but untested just the same.

Nick, you almost have a point. Our civil defense has been lacking, considering all the money we pay. However, European countries have had similar disasters as we have in the past, let's not pretend they didn't occur.

The point of pride is that we subsidize them for political reasons and those reasons are becoming harder and harder to justify. Germany has grown strong under our wing, that's a fact. The fact also is that they don't need our help anymore. They can afford to PAY For it if they want it. Otherwise, they should defend themselves as the EU. You want your Social Security paid for as is? There might be a good place for libs to start...

I see I hit a sore spot with you, didn't I CupCake? ;)

By "ducks in a row," I meant their political situation, not their military one. I'll accept your apology anytime now.

Nowhere in any of my posts have I said I wanted to send any of the troops from Europe to Iraq.

Your assessment of the French is erroneous...look at the Congo. Nobody cares to look at the heavy handedness they have wielded there. After all, they are just killing a bunch of Africans, aren't they?

I think your assessment of the return of the American Armed Forces is also bogus. I think we get a great return from our military. Maybe it should be better. Maybe there's a reason the Army kicked you out.

Sore spot? No, I just like pointing out where you are fool-hardy twinkie. I never said the French were nice or morally superior in any way to the U.S., though they may be smarter in some ways (like not getting tied down in a guerilla war in the middle east). But, by the way, the French did not control the Congo, if you are referring to the "Heart of Darkness" age of 19th C imperialism, it was the Belgians under the infamous cunt King Leopold. The French have their own imperialist miseries they've inflicted, as do we (like the Philippines circa 1901 for example).

Do you really think we get our money's worth Brian? I mean isn't $419 M a lot of money when compared to the nations below us on military spending? I mean it doesn't seem we need high-tech super weapons to fight terra-ists', we need good HUMINT and small numbers of special op's. Not F-22 Rapters or stealth satellites.

Yeah, I was really thrown out of the Army BigBlunder, unfortunately I wasn't able to swing a pension for a medical discharge due to hemorrhoids like you tough guy.;)

You read too much history on Google, dumbass. Think last decade, not last century.

Go back to Google and do a little research. Or ask Lucky Wilbury. Which Admininistration was responsible for cutting the budgets of the CIA that we don't have the HUMINT assets right now? We're playing catch up right now because of it. Those are the facts. The same with Special Ops.

This is another fine example of you bashing veterans. You have quite an impressive track record of this now. Are you sure you ever served? I have doubts you ever really did.

Try being more specific "dumbass" and not relying on over-generalizations.

The first Bush Adminstration? I'm sure he could pull an article out of his ass that talks about how everything from budget cuts to teen pregnancy was Clintons fault, but when you have Rumsfeld actively sapping CIA resources to make military "chainsaw" squads over the CIA's "scalpel" it sort of undercuts your entire argument.

Really, are these more of the notorious BigBlunder generalizations not supported by any real facts. Believe whatever you want Blggie, I could really give a shit.

Nick, I don't absolutely agree US army doesn't need high-tech units, actually I'm convinced it does. Those 6% of GDP aren't aimed for Middle East, or any other local conflict (like Korea or Vietnam), Jeez could you imagine Pentagon haulting every further developent of anti-missle systems when Russia already has Topol-M which cannot be hit by any existing AMS? I wouldn't even mention China with their neo-Cold War ambitions.
