I thought they were pretty cool when I saw them on some MTV Icon programme.

I heard they started the 'goth' movement and had their own genre called 'happysad'.

I haven't bought any of their albums yet. Any recommendations?

All of them.

If you're just starting..."Head on the Door", "The Top" and "Unplugged MTV" are musthaves!

Pornography and Disintegration are generally considered to be the lynchpins. I'm a big fan of The Top. The only losers (in my mind) are Wild Mood Swings and Japanese Whispers.

Really, you can't go wrong, though. They're a great band.

Their unplugged was one of the best. Better even than Nirvana, in my opinion. It also contains the best ever version of Just Like Heaven.

Pornography
Disintegration
Head on the Door
Paris
Bloodflowers

I listen to them all the time. One of my favorite bands.

Mezro...or just start with a compilation like Staring At the Sea: The Singles or Galore...

Sorry folks, I thought The Cure was gay as hell. Porl Thompson was a good guitarist though.

Cure didnt set my world on fire. Hard Rock and Metal is my world.
But I can listen to them, and appreciated that they were good at
what they did. Give me Cure over Fred durst anyday.
