The 90's pretty musch sucked for rock music, with all the punk/emo and nu-metal shit. But are there any new bands which are any good?

I do know that Dragonforce are awesome!

There's a Norwegian band Called "WE"...released a record last year: smugglers.

I don't know if they are touring the states or UK but...great band!
they have existed for about 10 years...Norways best live band.

I think they play Space Rock...or whatever...Good music.

i've heard of WE. they're supposed to be great.

the best 'new' band for me is Freak Kitchen, from Sweden. they've been around since '94 and they're soon releasing their 6th album. totally awesome band.

Freak Kitchen are brilliant. Their guitarist, Mattias 'Ia' Elkundh is a breathtaking player.

These are bands that don't necessarily reflect "rock" music in the VH tradtion, but who I like a lot:

WILCO
THE FLAMING LIPS
THE DARKNESS
RYAN ADAMS

'Riverside' sound pretty good, they are a prog metal band from Poland.

I also think 'Cave In' are good, check out their album 'Antenna'.
Fuses grunge with prog quite nicely.

Tons of great new bands. And I personally loved the 90s (but the first half were my teens).

Toyko Dragons...best band to come out of Britain in ages. The singer kinda looks like Lemmy.

That maybe true, but the majority I hear on the radio and see on TV annoy the fuck out of me!

Especially Good Charlotte!!!!

90s music was probably better than what you hear today.

Oh, I agree...tons of the shit that's POPULAR out there is crap. NICKELBACK, GOOD CHARLOTTE, CREED (when they were still around), A SIMPLE PLAN.

But there are tons of great bands...even if they're not all hitting the Top 10. Music is right now more image-based than it's been since the late 80s.

Cock Skunk - they sound like a cross between Ace of Bass and Slayer.

Jesus Pudding - Lords of Acid meets Danzig meets Bobby Brown.

Mezro...go check them out...

Downsize - www.audiostreet.net/downsize.

Who said that???

Also, I'd go along with The Datsuns being great, along with Tokyo Dragons.

"New rock bands."

There are none.

What is considered rock today is boring, drawn out punk songs.

Real rock died in the late 90's, with a few exceptions.

Today's state of music is sad.

You pretty much summed up the bands that I have liked from the past 10 years or so....

You only left out Audioslave and Velvet Revolver as far as I'm concerned.

DLR7884
You have good taste in music.

I've seen two British bands on the TV recently who I thought were pretty good, The Bravery and Towers of London (punk band).

You know what, I bet theres a bunch of new hard rock/metal acts
that are great, and due to the fucked up musci industry, we dont
even get the chance to hear them.

DRAGONFORCE ROCK.

Breaking the boundries of speed/melodic/power/progressive metal.

"Proud and so glorious
Standing before of us
Our souls will shine bright in the sky
When united we come
In the land of the Sun
With the heart of a dragon we ride..."

-Dragonforce, 'Heart Of A Dragon' from 'Valley of the Damned'

Also, the majority of the prog bands in Europe and America are VERY good.
