No Monday Night Games for the Titans?

How could that happen after a 5-11 record?

My workload just deflated tremendously. I'm looking forward to another subpar season for Tennessee.

Thanks for the info Mr. Chainz!

I'm psyched for Jets at Balto, 10/2 - a good weekend for me.

Alright...Pittsburgh should be 2-0...heading into the New England game....

and then have a bye to follow...to recover from whatever happens there...

An optimist's view has my Steelers at 13-3...losing once to Baltimore....to Indy and to New England...

We'll see though...I'll go through this again...

What an opener!

Oakland's so old it's mossy, and the tea party beckons!

Blanketyblank...blah fucking blah.

The semi-early bye notwithstanding, can't cuntplain about the schedule.

Titans going to go WR Mike Williams or Rolle from Miami?

Man - that's a great question. I'd like to say Rolle because they're so desperate for a corner. But with McNair coming back for another season I would think that they'd try to give him another option considering they only have 2 WR's, one coming off a season ending injury.

There's also talk about them possibly picking up a QB. Utah's Alex Smith and California's Aaron Rodgers have been on the lips of Floyd Reese the past couple of weeks, but he could be posturing...

My problem with Williams is this: We drove to Atlanta last month to do a story on a facilty that prepares players for the NFL combine. Mike Williams was working out there. The manager of the place said we'd be able to get him. Long story short - we get there - Mike goes into panic mode and locks himself in the owners office util we leave. He's not doing any media - which is fine - I'd never put a gun to anybody's head for an interview - but he could've handled it much better than he did. That shit will not fly on a team coached by Jeff Fisher. Remember when they passed on Randy Moss and picked up Kevin Dyson instead? Personality goes a long way with Jeff.

Looking at every draft since 98 - the Titans have traditionally gone defense - with the exception of last year when they traded down and picked up the brain dead Ben Troupe. I'd expect that to continue and for them to replace one Rolle with another.

We're sitting down with Floyd on Friday. If he tips his hat to what they're taking (and he seldom does) I'll update you.

Cool, getting ready to do a mock for my site.

Everywhere I read says that Williams is A-1 as far as character, but whoever really knows. I was assuming he would be a strong consideration due to the hiring of Chow as OC.

Rolle makes sense also because, like you mentioned, the departure of Samurai Rolle to Baltimore. Wouldn't seem like they would go QB with Volek already in the fold.

Problem is, who can believe anything being said or printed this close to the draft.

Cool if you could let me know how that meeting went. :D

Gotta love inside info sports fans!
Have been waiting to see if they would resign the other Dyson (CB) to decide.

Having lunch with his brother Kevin tomorrow. I'll find out the latest and hit you back. Could be a strong possiblity since no one has shown any interest yet.

Back from lunch. Kev says Andre thinks an assistant coach on the team doesn't like him and is glad to see him go. He says it's doubtful he'll return to the team because Floyd and his agent haven't had any meaningful talks since the begining of free agency. However, anything's possible after the draft. There may be a slim chance that Kevin could be back in a Titans uniform as well, as they only have 2 WR's right now. Talking to Floyd in an hour, more Titans draft info to come.

There may be more to this qb thing than people are thinking. Floyd told us that if there is "a franchise qb available, you got to take him" - now - he wouldn't tip his hat if he liked Rogers or Smith, but if those guys are around at the number 6 pick - they're going to Tennessee - book it.

Mike Williams is also a definite possiblity if he's not around. The USC connection with Chow and Fisher has a lot of pull. They also like Rolle, but Floyd seemed to prefer Williams. He didn't come right out and say it, but you could tell.

Who knows what will happen, Floyd has BS'd us before drafts on more that one occasion. We'll find out Saturday.

Is there really a franchise QB in this draft?

I can't believe many are high on this lot...

You know who's being touted as maybe the best prospect of all is McPherson, the troubled dude from FSU.

Giving him a lot of ink lately.

I wouldn't touch that fucking guy with a fifth round pick...

ALinChainz
04-15-2005, 07:08 PM
Lit up the Arena League for like 56 TD against 5 INT.

Killer mobility, 4.6 speed. Accurate from what I read with a good arm.

Wouldn't be anyone I draft, but I bet he doesn't last past rd 4.

POJO_Risin
04-15-2005, 07:14 PM
Good for the team that gets him...

he has a 10 cent head....and great numbers in the Arena League really don't translate...although those are certainly gaudy...

he won't last past rd 4...but I guarantee you this kid will fucking implode if he's ever a starter in the NFL...

ALinChainz
04-15-2005, 07:17 PM
Might not even take that long ... might be right after he signs his contract.

You hear about how he just wants a chance blah, blah, blah ...

We'll see.

POJO_Risin
04-15-2005, 07:18 PM
I'm all for second chances...but let's be honest...

How many 10 cent heads make good use of their 2nd chance?

none...well...more than none...but not many...

ALinChainz
04-15-2005, 07:20 PM
lol

About maybe 10 percent of the 10 cent heads.

Maybe.

POJO_Risin
04-15-2005, 07:26 PM
I don't know...MacPherson sure fucked up at FSU...he was young though...still is...

If I had a fifth rounder...I'd ponder it...no I wouldn't...
