DLR Eat 'Em And Smile Comp. III: Crazy Mexican Promos!

    Hey Roth Fans,
This is the Eat 'Em And Smile Compilation you DON'T have!
Yes, right out of the burner, it's the

David Lee Roth SONRISA SALVAJE Tres Recopilacion Promos Mexicanos Locos DVD!

    1) California Girls (lip sync) '86
    2) Interview I '86
    3) Loco del Calor (lip sync) '86
    4) Yankee Rose (lip sync) '86
    5) Loco del Calor II (lip sync) '86
    6) Interview II '86

What's so special about this DVD?
    1) This footage was NOT included on the EEAS Comp. 1 and 2 DVDs!
    2) Dave is speaking fluent Spanish throughout both different interviews!
    3) All the lip syncs are of Dave solo WITHOUT the EEAS band!
    4) Both versions of Loco del Calor are lip syncs, not the more commonly traded music video of Goin' Crazy in Spanish!
    5) The footage has been reedited, authored and menued (PC) from the original VHS copy, which is, at least, 2nd generation!

This footage is of Dave in Mexico promoting the EEAS album. It runs about 15 minutes. Very little of the audio/video is incomplete due to poor VHS recording pauses, but all of the glitches have been deleted to the best of my ability. It's Dave so you know it kicks ass!

Complete your DLR TV Appearances Collection today!

Here's what I'm presently looking to trade for:
    1) David Lee Roth -1985-2004 JAPANESE TV Comp (PC)
    2) David Lee Roth -Eat 'Em and Smile Compilation II (PC)
    3) The US Festival 20th Anniversary Edition(BTB production) - This one's commonly for sale on Ebay, but I'd rather trade for it.
    4) THE PAL RARITIES 1980 - 1985 (OSKY PRODUCTIONS) - Disc 1 ONLY!

Well, Cats and Kiddies, that's all for now! I may be new, but at least I'm trying to deliver! Thanks to everyone I've traded with so far, those who've answered my posts and those who've sent me PMs along the way! Take care everybody!

it's disc 1 of 2 DVD set includes various rare footage broadcasted in Europe.

          here's the detail.

          Disc 1 - Dave Era (61 mins)

          1. Rock Pop - ZDF TV Germany 21/6/80 - You Really Got Me (A+ - DVD master of Nov. 2003 re-broadcast) And The Cradle Will Rock (A- 2nd gen with a few satellite sparklies, but still pretty good) lip-sync - total 6 mins

          2. Loss of Control - Promo - colour version - from Australian TV 1980 - a bit glitchy but much better than the 47th generation B&W copy that crops up on some Dave era compilations! This is the only promo not to appear on BTB prods excellent 'Rage Red and More' DVD set. - (B+) 3 mins

          3. Pink Pop Festival, Landgraaf, Holland 26/5/80 - Dutch TV - very short clip of band playing RWTD + interviews with fans and groupies with the sound of VH playing live in background - generated with some colour drop-out but very rare (B-) 4 mins

          4. Music Box - German TV 1981 - Unchained + short interview - lip-sync - (A-) 4 mins

          5. US Festival San Bernadino 29/5/83 - recent re-broadcast on RAI TRE Italian TV - RWTD, Pretty Woman, YRGM + Happy Trails - (A)( fantastic quality 1st gen, I have never seen a better recording of this!) 12 mins

          6. Ear Say - UKTV 1984 - Dave interview + I'll Wait - promo (no band apperance, filmed by TV station) - VHS master > DVD (A) 6 mins

          7. BBC Old Grey Whistle Test - Castle Donnington Monsters of Rock Fest. Leicestershire, UK 18/8/84 - interview with Dave and Al in hotel room about gig (also includes interviews with Angus and Brian from AC/DC) - (A) 6 mins

          8. BBC Old Grey Whistle Test - Castle Donnington Monsters of Rock Fest. Leicestershire, UK 18/8/84 - Hot For Teacher - live - this and no. 7 are straight from my VHS TV master I recorded when I was 19! - (A) 4 mins

          9. Swedish TV news reports from Rasunda Stadium Stockholm, Sweden 25/8/84 (Monsters of Rock) - live clips and interviews w/Dave - some small tracking problems but still very viewable (B) 3 mins

          10. German TV news report on a gig from September 84 (either Karlsruhe 1/9/84 or Nuremburg 2/9/84) - clip of Jump live + interviews with fans - (B) 2 mins

          11. Danish TV 1984 - Short interview with Dave + a comment from Lars Ulrich in Danish! - (B+) - 1.5 mins

          12. French TV 1985 - 'Enfants Du Rock' interview with Dave for his solo EP while he was still in VH , (interesting as he strongly hints that he will be departing from VH soon). - (B) 8 mins.

Where can I see what is on this? Is it about the same minus this one promo or is it better?

Thanks for all the info, Cato.

Cato very kindly just sent me a copy. I can very highly reccomend this. It is well worth having for the early VH footage alone. The VH1 78 studio promos and the 1979 and 1981 live promos are the BEST versions out there for sure (until Ed releases them officially anyway). They certainly surpass the versions on BTBs Rage Red and More and Echobat's Back in the Day. Everything on this discs is either A or A+ quality IMO!
