Okay, if there's going to be an American Idol thread on this board I figured there should be a thread on something actually worth watching.

(No offense Fab - I just don't like the show...but I understand why others do and that's cool)

Anyway - I know we have some P&T fans in the house. What do you guys think of Season 3 after 3 episodes.

My opinion is that so far, they need to step it up a little bit. The first episode on circumcision was painful to watch. Seeing bloody baby wieners isn't my thing. And I don't think anyone who has above a 2nd grade education didn't already know that circumcision has any medical/health benefits. I'd give that one a D

Episode 2 on the institution of marriage was entertaining, but I don't think the married couple that had a boyfriend/girlfriend is the norm. Nor do I think that emotionally the 4 of them function well once the cameras aren't rolling. I do agree that gay parents don't raise their kids any differently than hetero parents. P&T as always make good points, but I think this time they were trying to convince themselves a little too hard on certain points. I'd give this one a D too.

Episode 3 on Conspiracy Theories was also lame. Most all of us knew going in that the arguments they were going to show us were Bullshit. The JFK stuff was interesting though, but the 9-11 and moon landing stuff was a no brainer. Everyone knew the guys they were hammering on were idiots. My Grade = C.

I love P&T but I wish they'd go back to tackling stuff that everyone things is bulletproof. The episode they did on recycling was classic. That's what I want to see more of. They don't need to convince me that a guy who thinks 9-11 was a govt. conspiracy is full of shit.

Your thoughts?

I wish I could talk about the current season, but I just rent the DVD's. I've seen all of the first two seasons, and usually the only fault of the show is that they sometimes take on easy targets, like alien abduction, hypnotism, etc. The great ones were recycling (as you said), AA, war on drugs, ecologists, PETA, the Bible. These new ones do sound like easier targets, which is probably the main reason they aren't as entertaining. Top notch show though.

Exactly. If they took on more taboo subjects the show would be much better.

:(I no longer get SHOWTIME. So I'll have to rent the DVD. The one on circumcision was just brutal!

Dude, it was one of the most grusome things I've ever seen on TV. If you have a penis, it was painful to watch.

Then they ice the cake with this 70 year old dude dropping trou and revealing how you can grow back your foreskin with a simple mini barbell looking device.

It was perhaps the most grueling half hour of TV I watched this year. And I work at a local news station that does nothing but put crap on the air.

This fucking thread will NOT sink.

If the fucking AI thread stays afloat in this forum - you bet your ass the BULLSHIT THREAD will too.

Now get SHOWTIME fuckers and get enlightened.

It's embarrassing that more people in the ROTH army watch AI than this show.

Well after hearing about the circumsizions I don't really think I wanna see it at all now.

That was a painful experience. I sat there the whole time thinking, wow, this actually happened to me. I'm glad I don't remember it. (Even though it was only a month ago)

Fear not, I think I am getting SHOWTIME back this week.

All my guy friends had their hands over their crotches grimacing with pain the entire episode.

And that old dude dropping his pants and putting the balls into his foreskin was just...I can't put it into words. I'm traumatized.

I'm beginning to see a pattern on Season 3. So far they haven't told me anything that I didn't already know or suspect. BULLSHIT is becoming, well...bullshit.

Episode 4 on the LIFE COACHES was pretty week. I admire them for being able to find these crazy motherfuckers who believe they are legit and truly making a difference in people's lives. I am amazed that these people actually agree to go the show.

However, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that going to a CUDDLEPARTY isn't going to solve any of life's problems.

BULLSHIT is at the very least an entertaining show. However, they've dumbed down the content to the point where they are going after easy targets.

Hopefully the show on endangered species will change that.

I give this one a D.

Three D's and a C for the first 4 episodes of my favorite show. What the fuck is going on here?

Oh well, it's still beats the fuck out of AMERICAN IDOL.

the best was when they got a bunch of hippies to ban dihydrogen monoxide by telling them it was everywhere from nuclear plants to being used on vegtables even in the water. too funny:D

vanzilla

Yeh, that was classic. I was waiting for them to ban women's sufferage too, but Howard Stern already did that.

That's the kind of stuff I want to see more of on the show.

Bullshit! - MONDAYS AT 9c ON SHOWTIME.

Thank you.

Holier Than Thou

New Episode
Monday, May 23th at 10 pm ET/PT

To most of the world, highly revered figures such as Mother Theresa, Mahatma Gandhi and the Dalai Lama are larger-than-life symbols of love, peace and charity. But how much of our perception of "sainthood" is built on hype and not facts? This episode reveals the dark side of the so-called enlightened ones and delves into why we're so susceptible to buying into their bullshit.

That's no easy bunch of targets....good to hear.

Aren't they bashing college this year too?

They hinted to that last season, but so far I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe they've dedicated an episode to it yet. I'd love to play a part in that one. I dropped out with just 24 hours of electives left and every employer I've had said it was the best thing I ever did. Of course, you don't need a college degree to be a PORN STAR.

You've probably noticed this by now Figs, but the show open contains the subjects they're exposing for the season. I didn't see anything college related.

Holy shit - this was the episode I was waiting for.

Mother Teresa is such a bitch. The way she justified suffering, so she could experience "the face of Christ"? - what a bunch of bullshit!

Ghandi was a racist who hated blacks; slept naked with women, and gave enemas to young girls

The Dhali Llama was a draconian dictator and Tibet became a more civilized country after the Chinese invaded.

And they've all three managed to dupe highly influential people, not to mention most of the world!!!!

My God, now this was the shit right here!

EPISODE 4 = A+

Next week, they ARE INDEED DOING THE COLLEGE IS A HOAX episode.

Finally my favorite show comes back strong!

They can make you very jaded, can't they....

The college one sounds great too. Many college majors are a waste, not all of course.

I love this show. It's my favorite Showtime original.

P&T is the ONLY reason I pay for Showtime.

On the subject of college, Dennis Prager (I think on the PETA episode) summed it up better than anyone, referring to a statement a PETA woman was screaming at the LA animal shelter "Only someone who went to college could say something that stupid"...

Stuff like that is beyond worth the price of admission and the occasional lack luster episode.

Dammit - I missed Monday's show.

Figs - Train - anyone....did you guys happen to catch it?

And it was the college episode too - FUCK!

If anyone saw it give me a review. Thanks!

I cancelled Showtime after the 2nd P&T season. That network sucks & I don't miss it at all. I might pick it up for a month when they show all the P&T season 3 episodes, but based on the reviews of the season so far I don't seem to be missing anything.

NEW YORK - Comedian/magician Penn Jillette's latest stunt did not involve his usual sidekick, Teller: He became the father of a baby girl.

Jillette, 50, and his wife Emily, 39, welcomed Moxie CrimeFighter Jillette on Friday, according to publicist Glenn Schwartz. It was the first child for the couple, who married last year.

"We chose her middle name because when she's pulled over for speeding she can say, `But officer, we're on the same side,'" Jillette explained. "`My middle name is CrimeFighter.'"

The typically mute Teller had no comment on the new arrival.

Penn & Teller currently star in their own series on Showtime, and headline nightly in Las Vegas at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.
