Anyone catch this? It was pretty cool if you like Elvis, which I do. Lots of cool home vids and interviews with Priscilla and Lisa Marie.

She said she MUST have the DVD.

Any concert footage? I bet they skipped his 70s period.

Actually quite a bit, including a song from that infamous final concert in Indy.

There was tons of 70's stuff cos Lisa Marie was recalling her years with her dad.

They also included a few songs that weren't broadcast during both the '68 Comeback special and the Hawaii concert....

I was quite surprised how much they both opened up about their private time with Elvis.... They've always kept that to themselves... You could tell how emotional it was, especially at the end....

I had never heard of this CBS special. Sounds cool!

I bought the 68 Comeback NTV special de luxe edition last year. A must!

Now, are you talking about a DVD?

The 68 Comeback Special DVD kicks ass!

Absolutely! Everything in it kicks ass, even the scenes where Elvis's dancers or the King himself fail. The scene in which he has to break a guitar apart ("Big Boss Man") is worth it. The "Little Egypt" stuff is real fun, for Elvis seems to miss what he's supposed to do first because he digs the chick like hell (who wouldn't, she's a mere bomb), then as if he wanted to make it last on purpose...

I just hope the CBS footage is on DVD too and offers as much bonus stuff.

The DVD is out tomorrow. I believe it's a double disc. The TV show was 2 hours minus commercials, so I'm assuming there's bonus stuff.

The companion CD and book came out in the last week or so, as well.

They are all referred to as "Elvis by the Presleys."

I had the opportunity to see him in Wichita Kansas in late December 1976.

My friend's grandma had a pair of tickets, and decided not to go so she offered them to us for free. They were good seats too!

Only thing was, we had just discoverd Kiss, and (being 16) did not want to waste our time seeing an old fogey like E.

He was dead 8 months later. I was pretty close to Memphis at the time (Huntsville, Abalama), and I still have the newspaper article.

I remember how I found out he died.....I walked into this strip club I would hang out at occasionally, but there was no music going on, no dancers dancing, everyone just sitting around staring at the TV. I asked the bartender what was going on, and he told me "Elvis is dead".

I have regretted not going to that show for years.

I had a chance to see Elvis and turned it down. What a fucking dumbass I was.

But I do not consider Elvis to be The King.

THAT crown belongs to Little Richard. Well, or you could say that tiara belongs to him too haha, but Little Richard was the motherfucking MAN back in the fifties. He ROCKED.

If you woulda put Little Richard and Elvis on the same stage, Little Richard woulda cleaned his motherfucking clock!

The 2 DVD's total 4 hours and 20 minutes. Lots of special never before seen stuff. Haven't had time to watch yet, but I'll let you know how great it is.

Yeah, I wanna pick this up. I love ELVIS. If there's a lot of rare footage, I'll definitely pick this one up.
