I think there are some obvious guys out there...but which player is respected by other players...for his play and demeanor on the court?...and is currently playing...

2 guys jump out...

1. Tim Duncan

2. Steve Nash...

anyone I'm forgetting?

and I'm basing the Nash statement on this year...

I don't know that Reggie would be included into that group...at least not in the past few years...

Maybe Shaq...not sure though...

I guess my thoughts are that you need to be at a certain level to go along with the respect...

respecting a guy for being around for 20 years...and respecting a guy because he's flat out killing your are two different things...I guess my mind was on the second piece of that...

Miller's respect is more of a career type...

yeah i dont know if people respect shaq as much because i dont think shaq has as much skill as duncan shaq just is 2 times bigger than anyone so he just dunks everything

That being said...I bet there aren't many people not named Kobe that DON'T want Shaq on their team...

which may be the ultimate respect...

There have been plenty of players as big as ShaqDiesel...who haven't been near as good...not even ballpark...

KG

I would agree with KG ...he's at least as respected as Nash...although...if they don't do anything in the playoffs after last year's run...in the future...that may disappear...

I would have to put Shaq in that category, and would include Reggie Miller as well, although he's now out of the game.

How about Yao?

Duncan in a landslide.... Nash will never get the respect that Timmy gets... Let's face it truthfully, he's a white boy in the 70% black NBA....

Someone who, if he isn't already, will be getting mad respect:

Dwayne Wade

Oh, I'll say Allen Iverson :D

Brett

Actually, I'll say Bonzi Wells.

i gotta agree with iverson.

yeah, he takes too many shots.

but seriously, is there a smaller guy out there who's willing to put his body more on the line to single-handedly win a game for his team? repeatedly? and usually?

man, i think everyone who loses a game to the sixers has to be thinking, "you know, the sixers kind of suck. without AI, we'd have KILLED that team. in fact, if WE had AI, we'd be unbeatable."

I'm going with Spreewell. He was able to get out of a bad situation and land a fat contract in NY by choking a coach he hated

Dwayne Wade

I'd vote for Wade also. He was a fucking animal this year. Did Shaq open it up for him though? ;)

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Kobe....as a player.

Larry Hughes?
