View Full Version : What would be YOUR Live 8 Line-Up, Then?

Live 8 will suck-it's a fact beyond belief.

Who would you rather were on each bill on each stage?

Mine(in no particular order)-

London - Hyde Park

Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge hosting
AC/DC (they'll go down well at such an event)
Pink Floyd
Dragonforce
ELP
The Darkness
Jet
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Paul McCartney (he has to be there somewhere)
Muse (good live, so I left them in)
Motorhead
REM (not bad, left them in)
Yes
Jools Holland
UFO
Deep Purple
Dio
Status Quo
David Bowie (he was good on the last one)
Velvet Revolver (MUST leave them in)
Meat Loaf (he'll be in the UK, so why not?)

Philadelphia Museum of Art

Will Smith - hosting (OK, fair dos, hes funny)
CVH
Dave solo set
Hall & Oates (as long as they bring the Temptations on)
Aerosmith
Rush
Black Sabbath
Ted Nugent
Anthrax
Metallica (nothing post-Black album)
Doors of the 21st Century
Bob Dylan

Berlin - near Brandenberg Gate

Neal Morse
Whitesnake
Rammstein (a lot of respect goes their way)
Brian Wilson
Scorpions (German ledgends)
MSG (German ledgend)
Alice Cooper
Led Zep (they did it last time)
Black Crowes
Quireboys

Paris

Lynyrd Skynyrd
Saxon
Glenn Hughes
Porcupine Tree
Simon and Garfunkel
Motley Crue (good live)
Peter Gabriel
The Who (again, why not?)

Rome is just gonna get deleated. Its too shit to look for improvement.

Are the "Doors of the 21st Century" already scheduled to play?

And if so, is it on the same stage where Sting is scheduled?

And if this is the case, does anybody have Andy Summers' phone number?

Get the Police on stage at this show. There's no valid reason not to.

And as long as we're talking reunions, Cream and Almost Queen might as well play, since they both have recently.

Love to see Van HALEN but not counting on it.

If REM plays, I hope Bill Berry shows up. I hear he has done the occasional gig on the last tour. The band went downhill when he left.

The Alarm should show up for the London set. But only the original Alarm, not Mike Peters and his unknown hired guns. The fact that I heard "68 guns" in a goddamned Heineken ad last weekend leads me to believe that they're looking for some publicity anyway.

And the only two things that could beat the previously rumored Pink Floyd appearance...

The Faces reunited on stage

The Rolling Stones, including Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman.

Obviously these two would have to be on the same stage unless Woody wanted to do some Phil Collins style Concorde hopping.

Queen + are playing in Lisbon that day-so they can't make L8

I would want Peter Kay or Eddie Izzard hosting one of the shows

Megadeth should also be added!

Yea, I was getting confused then. I thought that you just decided to post the names of some random movie characters.

Imagine Dave with Spinal Tap!!!!

Maybe they should bring on 50 Cent, The Rasmus and The Streets on stage, tied up, and then we can freely chuck bottles at them.

Apart from the worry that they might play some of their music...
