Why does saying: "Fuck You" (or flipping the finger) is an insult?

If someone wishes you to go and have sex, it is nice no?

All you have to respond is either:

"Yes, I really need that right now",
"Find me the perfect partner and I'll do it",
"If you volunteer, let's do it on the spot" or
"Sure I can certainly use my dildoe right now"
Etc...

And why, does the "F" word such a taboo among American, Anglo-Canadians and English people???

We, French ones see no offence in a word that describes such a great act?
