Lights did go on and off for some time until i asked Him (Richard) to stop, Because was spooking people out with it. i knew the guy who lived here he had a Heart Attack and passed away. the house went for sale CHEAP... and well here we are. my dog was going nuts on December 27 2004 and would growl bark and run around from our living room to the far part of the kitchen and stop dead and lay on the floor. i told my kids to grab my Video Camera and turned off all the lights except for the TV put my camera in the lightest setting and started walking the kitchen i filmed for 5 minutes. and played it back what we saw on tape was a white Orb come right at me pause then just evaporate with a slight buzz. which i did not see or hear while i was filming . we still talk about it . as well as other things Richard has played on us i think also that there is a little girl here too i have heard her talking sometimes thought it was my Granddaughter , it wasn't.

I was married to this beautiful woman with short brown hair, and was murdered by my jealous friend, who wanted to steal millions of dollars from an unmarked account.... luckily there was this black pyschic woman with dreads, who could hear me and communicate to my wife that her life was in danger!!!!

I lived in a haunted house for about a month...no serious problems, but the ghost made it's presence known to me that was for sure.

Long story.

Only time I have ever had a paranormal experience....

Nope, can't say it is. None of the people I killed in dark rituals of blood and organ offerings to His Infernal Majesty, SATAN, has ever came back to haunt me. And so, I live happily with a basement full of corpses of virgins. Well, not exactly full... I mean, it's not that I don't try, I'm not lazy or anything, but 21 year old virgin women are SO hard to come by, these days. Plus, I couldn't help myself and ruined two perfectly good women, once. I mean, twice. 'Cos they were two, you know. So it wasn't once, it was twice. they were REALLY hot. I had to let them go afterwards. I mean, you can't bloody sacrifice a virgin if she's not virgin anymore, can you? Anyway, you would have done the same, so quit lookin' at me that way. I told you, they were really hot. Fine, don't believe me. See if I care.

Cheers! :bottle:

My house is supposed to be haunted by a lady called Dorreen who lived and died here in the house. The lights go on and off occasionally, my daughters tv can turn itself on and the kettle has switched on by itself. I try to think that there are explainaqtions for this, shit wiring etc but who knows??

Our lights flicker and the tv turns on and off. Me and my uncle heard footsteps upstairs. We think it is a little girl and a man. this house was built in the 1800's

I believe in the "other side". I have had many experiences. Thing is, it's not something I go look for. It just happens. Here is one experience I will share:

I was about 17 years old, just came back from a Cheap Trick Concert. Went to bed, and woke up with seeing this little girl on my dresser smiling this evil smile with my Cheap Trick bow tie that I had bought at the concert. She just sat on the dresser, swinging her legs, and that evil twisted smile. I let out a quick scream, covered up my head with blankets and peeked out of them only to see that she was still there. You can argue and say I was asleep but, I was awake when I saw her. She would appear several times through out the years until I left this home and bought my own. Thing is, it would happen only in ODD years (ie. 1985, 1987, 1989, ect.) Or I would be at an odd age, ie. 15, 17, 19, 21, ect. The next time I saw her was when she brought a man with her. My door was closed to my room it was in the middle of winter, all windows were shut. I fell asleep with my headphones on listening to music. I woke up, took my headphones off and looked up. My bedroom door opened up just a few inches and slammed shut. Then the little girl and man appeared at the door. Just stood there. I was scared shitless. I told my mother about it. She told me it was a warning. That there was more to come. Little bit by little the little girl and man would come closer to my bed with each visit. Finally they were at my beds edge and I screamed, "Who the hell are you and what the hell do you want!" They vanished. From then on I slept with a light on in my room, and did so for many years. I stopped when I moved back in here, and I haven't seen nothing yet. Thing is....my son saw the Little Girl one night, and I never mentioned it to him because I didn't want to scare him. I told him about her after that, and since then....he hasn't had his light off. How old was he when she appeared? 11.

I have never SEEN ghosts, except in my dreams (where they will talk in riddles).
I've HEARD some several times in my life (late members of my family) in my everyday life, in a shockingly realistic way). Like my grandfather telling me "So what's the matter now, boy?", at the very place where he used to be a farmer, as I was on my train back to the city where I studied, the evening after his funeral... So striking!

But the voice I heard now and then through the years isn't to be attributed. A voice I heard until the age of 15 foresaw the most important events of my life. No rational relations could be made, but they all fulfilled... I wonder where this voice came from...

I've never SEEN ghosts in real life, but they've been in my dreams for a long time, and they've always appeared for meaningful purposes.

Lived in a house for 4 years that had bad vibes connected to it. Was bought from an old man who was selling it dirt cheap. He moved out of state. A month later, two agents from the FBI came around asking if he had left a forwarding address, although they wouldn't say why they were looking for him.

Worst of it was a period of about two weeks or so. Whenever I'd be alone in the house, I'd hear voices coming from another room, as if several people were having a conversation. I knew I was the only one there, and made sure there were no radios or tvs left on in any of the other rooms (this was a fairly big house). So I'd get up, walk into every room and find nothing. Then the voices would start up again. I mean, I was tripping on psychedelics pretty heavily at that point, but am pretty sure I wasn't hallucinating.

I beleive that cats can see another dimention, maybe ghosts...

Sometimes, I swear my cat sees things that are surrounding us but that we just can't perceive.
She looks and reacts such in ways like: running funny with the rounded back, running around like crazy just before a storm etc...

I have a few of these types of experiences to speak of, it was what convinced me there was a God.
I used to be a very dark person, Gothic before Gothic was a fashion statement.
Our drummers mother was a medium, or psychic for you literal folk, and we had little sessions to try and speak to the dead, bad move because we were successful.

This woman, Cindy, would always trip us kids out with little things like descriptions of places we were going to but never been, places she'd never been but described to a T.

One night in particular, we all gathered at the kitchen table. a couple of guys were not very serious at all and it was a bit of a buzz kill for me cause i was seriously into the idea of contacting the dead, but their tune changed quickly and sarcasm was replaced by total fear.

We all joined hands and she started doing this speech ritual to get the party started.
Then she began talking to herself, answering her own questions and such, and i was skeptical at her "performance" for lack of a better term.
Then she says very quietly, "We have company".
I looked around the room as if i were going to see someone but nobody was around.
One dude, Derrick, starts to goof off a bit so Cindy asks the question that changed me forever, "Give us a sign if you are with us".
At that very moment there was this banging sound that started in the cieling and came right down the center of the room and went through the floor, the dogs, 3 of them instantly went nuts barking and snapping at something that we could not see at all.

I remember the look on everyone's faces as vivid as if it were a minute ago, fear hit everyone but i was still unsure of what exactly was going on, half terrified, half not believing any of it.
She kept repeating to us NOT to break the chain (our joined hands) over and over and i had a death grip on Scott's hand boy, neither of us was letting go for anything.
Then the dogs just stopped barking and shot up the stairs crying, poor dogs :(
Then all of a sudden one of the dudes there, Craig, jumps up out of his seat and scared shitless said "Later!" and basically ran out the house, Cindy was screaming at him NOT to break the damn chain, but he left.
I became concerned when Cindy started acting all freaked out because the chain was broken.
We calmed her down a tad but she was freaked out and told us that she couldn't get rid of the entity without Craig coming back.

So Derrick gets up and goes to the phone to call him and try to get him to come back, Scott and I are just chilling in our chairs leaning back on the rear legs.
Next thing i know, Scott grabs my arm really really, and i mean really tight and in my usual chipper mood i got pissed and turned to bitch him out, the shit hurt, lol.
But the look on his face stopped me cold in my tracks.

Now i am positioned in front of the doorway that leads into the dining room, my back was to it and all Scott said to me was, "Dude, stick your hand in that room, so i did, and while the rest of the house was at 72 degrees, that dining room was ice fucking cold, no draft, just ice fucking cold, I freaked, spun around in my seat and looked into the room at the very same fucking time Scott did and there she was.

In the far corner of the room was this figure apparently wearing a white wedding dress, and it was kind of sour smelling, the shit wasn't pleasant at all.
Her face was pretty damn ugly and her eyes were open so wide just glaring at us both.
Scott and I looked at each other and both said in stereo, "That's it, i'm outta here" and we got up to bolt.
Everyone else was tripping on us asking "What?".
We couldn't answer, i don't even remember them asking me anything, but Derrick and Shaun being all macho decided to take a peak, it was like a flash because they saw it too and did not hesitate to run from the house, Cindy is freaking again because we all broke the chain and according to her and many incidents after that, this lady was trapped in the house and started doing shit to the kids at night, playing with appliances and shit.

A few months later, after mass pleading from her to bring everyone back to reverse whatever the hell it was we apparently did, we finally got everyone to return.
We joined hands and she did her little psychic thing with no incidents and peace returned to the home, it was as if a trucks weight was removed from her. I could see that in her eyes myself.

It was the strangest thing i had ever experienced in my life, i actually saw a ghost and was not alone.
It took us all awhile to discuss it, but when we did the fact that we all saw the same identical thing blew my mind.

My mother was into paying psychics for readings back then, so my skepticism was at full bore until that experience.
My mom was seeing a crook, Cindy was for real.

A few days later i called Scott to see when he wanted picked up for rehearsal and he told me his mother had just called and told him to tell me to be careful driving that night because she saw a problem with the wheel on my Charger....i checked out the car before leaving and discovered that 4 of 5 lugnuts on the driver side front wheel were loose.

Talk about freaky shit?
That freaked me out bad.

Some years passed and the last time a i saw Cindy she shook my hand and locked on to me, like in a damn movie, and told me i was going out of town the next day.
7 AM the next morning my Aunt called to tell us my Grandfather passed away, I had to drive my mother to Kentucky that afternoon.

But one thing that really haunts me about that woman is that back in '88 she told us all that she would never see the age of 50.
Scott called me out of the blue on November 15, 1999 and told me she died from heart failure, two weeks before her 50th birthday.

I have been through a few other experiences, but these involving Cindy Hillard were life altering events in my life.

I share more later, i'm tired of typing right now, lol.

Oh, one quick one though.....

The dude Derrick, from the above story, and I went to visit a friends grave one cold ass night, i forget the year.
We were bored one night and had some killer chemical weed to smoke, this weed made people pass out and was the color Grey.
The best shit i have ever smoked in my life.
Anyway, we cruised out there towards dusk, the sun was beginning to set and we wanted to smoke a doobie and push the roach into the ground for our friend.

We get there and it's really chilly out and we both sit on the opposite side of the grave so as to pass the joint and keep Mark between us.
I begin talking to Mark much the same way we did when he was alive and i'm noodling around getting ready to fire up the doob.
Then i remember that my lighter is in the car, so i go to get up and i use Marks headstone as a crutch to get off the ground, I instantly stopped in my tracks.

When my hand touched the tombstone, it was HOT, i mean it was HOT.
It's probably 40 degrees outside and this stone is HOT.
I walked to the grave next to it and that stone was cold, so were all of the stones near us, except Marks stone, It was HOT to the touch.

We got a little spooked and the sun was going down so we got in his camaro (Oh he has a sweat ass '68), and we decided that smoking that joint was not going to happen and bolted down the road.
The farther we got from the cemetary the louder this noise in the engine got until it threw a rod.
We walked to the Pony Keg to call for a ride and i just started laughing my ass off, we still hadn't gotten high yet but i remembered a time when Mark was just blasting on Derricks car because it had what he called a piece of shit 327 plant under the hood.
Mark had tried for years to get Derrick to put a 396 in it but Derrick never did it, said he would someday, but to that point hadn't.

I told Derrick that Mark was tired of waiting so he blew up the 327 to get him to do the engine swap, that's why i was laughing.

That 396 still sits proudly in that car and has never had a problem since it went in.

I don't know what it is about cemetaries, but i have been to so many funerals in my time that it has become a comfort zone for me.

At one time i wanted to attend the college of Mortuary Science and study to be a mortician.

Death and I are like a magnet to each other, it seems i have danced with death since i was 13 years old.

Then i was saved and i never went looking for the paranormal again.
I know it exists, i have seen it, i have felt it, and my turn to make the journey will eventually come.....I hope the wait is a long one, it won't be, this i also know, but i'm not going until i am damn good and ready to go.

For me ?

Too much to tell !

Freakiest, watching the pointer go crazy on a
Ouija board, then everybody taking their hands
off, only to watch the pointer continue to move
around on the board on its own accord..

Heard my name called in empty houses...

I could write a CAT sized post..

Seen enough to be open minded.
I know theres at least another energy dimension
beyond our own.

Whether its powerful remnants of individual's personalities,
recorded on time, *or* actual continuing individual entities,
Im not sure.

I do know they can fuck with our dimension, physically.

i grew up in a old house that my parents fixed up when my mom inherited it. my great aunt died in the living room and my great great grandfather died in the basement. around my mid-teens i started having this terrifying nightmares and i wondered if i was being haunted. then i learned that they were only hypnogogic hallucinations resulting from awareness during sleep paralysis.

i loved that penn & teller bullshit episode on the ouija boards, when those people were talking on the upside down board. the ideomotor effect, heh heh

It did turn out to be a weird trip. Not really a bummer, but just plain odd. That house just had peculiar vibes. Relatives still live there, and I visit maybe once a year. The really strange part is that the house has been suject to extensive redecorating both inside and out, but it still has that aura about it.

My grandmother has a ghost in her house. Sometimes she comes home and all the plants are turned over sitting upside down. Also, occassionally she will hear loud noises, and go into her kitchen to find the ice tray thrown out of the refrigerator all over the ground. Something would of had to open the refrigerator and get out the ice and throw it on the floor.

Also, she has seen it. It is a woman. It floated into her room one night. Mimi (my grandmother) said she smelled a horrible odor, it got really cold, and this thing woman floated into her room. She said she closed her eyes and said, "Leave me alone please." When she opened her eyes it was gone.

(Oh...she lives alone and has no pets....so it couldn't of been that)

Yeah, but they are too skeptical. Ive seen photos and films that
could be either fake or real. (In my mind)
The skeptic society will always claim it to be fake.
That is neither open minded or scientifical.

Its as bad as the lunatics that believe every ghost pic is real,
but they (The Skeptic Society) are the opposite.
They are the extremists at the other end of the scale.

My grandparents and my mom and aunts used to live in a house that had some weird things happen back in the 60's-70's.

They had a bar in the basement with those heavy metal barstools with the thick cushions. They weighed about 50 lbs. Those things would sometimes tip over when nobody was downstairs.

Then there was time that a family friend was babysitting my aunts. It was late in the evening and she could hear footsteps upstairs and the creaking of a door. She went upstairs to see if one of the kids was awake...all of my aunts were fast asleep. She freaked out and called her husband, if I remember correctly.

Then there was the time my aunt was sleeping, and could feel somebody trying to pull at her legs as if trying to pull her off the bed. She resisted, and woke up, and saw nobody there.

Another time, my other aunt saw some red mist in the dark while she was in her bed, like hovering around in the room.

My grandma was the most spooked out of them all. She woke up in a cold sweat once, she told us, and all she would look at was the door knob on the closet in her room. Then there was the fact that there was an attic entrance in my aunt's rooms, a little door. My grandma moved a heavy dresser in the way, because she had creepy vibes about it.

Just a strange house. They moved out when I was a few years old.

When I was in college I worked at a funeral home. I worked evenings and would mostly usher the families of the deceist during viewings and was a general gopher for the funeral directors. One of my duties was to lock the place up at night. If any caskets were open, I would have to close them.

It was creepy at first but after awhile, you get used to it. I never saw anything scary.

I certainly learned how fragile the body is. We had some excellent embalmers and makeup artists who could rebuild half a blown away head to where it looked like nothing had happened. Embalming a corpse is an involved, unpleasant process. It's a good thing most people don't know what we do to their dead grandmother or favorite uncle in the embalming room.

All I can say is great care and expertise are used to make the dead person look their best for the last time their loved ones and friends are going to see them.

The funeral business is an emotional business. You deal with the families, you deal with death and all it's unpleasantness up close and personal.

I do believe there is another dimension. One time I was closing a casket on a man who died from drowning in a lake. He was horrible and pastey looking when he came in. By the time he came out of embalming and makup, he looked like he would just get up out of that casket and walk away. They used a darker tint of embalming fluid and managed to restore the mans natural suntan back a bit. All I know is he looked good instead of the scary wreak that was picked up and I'm sure that helped his family cope with the tragedy better. Well, while I'm tucking in the casket liner and pulling the lid closed, I could sense someone was standing right next to me and I swear it was the spirit of the man who was in the casket. He was looking at his dead body. I didn't feel anything scary or evil. I kind of think he liked what we did with him, at least I hope so.

All I know is we should treat the dead with respect. I don't know about haunted houses and all this other crazy stuff we hear. I am a strong believer in people go on after their body dies and rapidly starts to decay and decompose.

very cool post, nitro.
that must have been an amazing experience.

perhaps 99% of spirits are not visible?

like i said i've never SEEN anything spooky.

me and my last girlfriend used to visit cemetaries late at night.
not for any weird or evil reason, just for the experience.

i CAN tell you that i believe you don't find ghosts in cemetaries.
they are much more likely to hang around places they enjoyed
in the physical realm. i know i would.

and what of the 'near death experience'?
thousands of people of different countries and cultures report the same thing.

the moment of death:
seeing their own body, no pain or discomfort, and reporting events and conversations
they could not possibly have seen or heard as they lay there clinically dead.

i'd say that in itself is fairly strong proof of an afterlife.

Cemetaries can be interesting places. I remember walking through the old Idaho City cemetary. Idaho City was a huge gold rush town in the 1860's. Like all ghost towns, they boomed and went bust after the gold ran out. A good part of the cemetary is overgrown and has huge pine trees in it. It's like you are in the middle of a natural forrest but then you run into these nice marble headstones and some of them have iron fences around them. You can tell there was a lot of money in the area at the time because of the elaborate grave sites.

Never was spooked at all and I was the only one there. Maybe if I started thinking about spooky things I could have really scared myself but I was more interested in the history of the area, and you can learn a lot about people and the era from the headstones and the burial sites.

So yeah, I would agree, cemetaries really aren't that spooky really. Most the people buried there didn't have much life experience there. Yeah, I think more of the spooky stuff happens in houses for some reason.

I once had a strange experience, but nothing dramatic.

I was sitting watching TV, up set about something one night. As I looked down at a pen, it flew off the table, making a parabolic arc as it did so. The windows were open, but I noticed no stiff wind capable of lifting the metal pen.

I'm not sure whether I believe in ghosts an all that nor do I generally believe that people have kinetic mental powers, but who knows. It did freaked me out a bit at the time though.

back in 1994 my friend moved into this old two story log house up the hill from me here in w.va.. the house used to be a civil war hospital. and across the field from it was a plantation. we was all up there shortly after he moved in partying. later that night I decided to stay there even though I only live a two minute walk from my house cause I was ripped and a lot of shit can happen when your that ripped and staggering in the dark. anyway we crashed out in an upstairs room that a soldier was shot in. I was sleeping on the couch and suddenly I awoke in a cold sweat. the door to that room creaked open and I knew for a fact that noone else was there in the house. in walked this dude in an old cival war uniform but different from the ones I've seen. my buddy had some camoflauge pants and other stuff on a rocking chair in the room. he picked up the camo pants and looked at them. when he did the chair moved back and forth! I could clearly see through this soldier 'cause a light was on down the hall. my buddy jumped straight up on his bed when he was awoken by a blood curdling scream. it was me. when the light came on the spirit was gone. my buddy had a lot of weird shit happen to him while he lived there. like the shower curtain flying open by itself when he was in the bathroom. stuff coming up missing then appearing back somewhere that he knew he had looked. he said he seen shadows out of the corner of his eye all the time. the place is still for rent but noone stays there for more than a couple of months at a time.

I've actually read a little parapsychology on the subject. Most scientists say your brain isn't capable of producing the energy required to physically move objects, much less projecting that energy from your cranium...

But there are still things we can't explain....things that science can't even explain...

I grew up in a house that had a ton of 'spiritual' activity. My parents bought our house from an Indian witch-doctor (didn't know it at the time) and we had issues all of the time. When I was 5, I remember my closet door opening and an object sat on my bed and touched me. When it did, I felt a tingle run up my spine and I started druling all over myself. My parents heard me moaning and the entity left the room as soon as they came in.
Also, we used to see the woman who we bought the house from in one of the rooms repeatedly. She always looked really pissed off, but never physically touched us (to our knowledge). Her son sent us a picture of her one year and asked if we had had any encounters with her. This was completely random and we had never met him before. My mom sent him a letter back explaining that we saw her all of the time. He then sent us a copy of her death announcement. She had died a year or so before we started seeing her.
One time, one of my moms friends walked up to the front door and knocked. We weren't home, but an old woman opened the door and never said a word. Our friend said when she saw our "grandma" that it startled her and all of her hair stood on end. She felt so uncomfortable that she turned around and left. The next day, she came by again and told us that she didn't know that our "grandma" was visiting. My parents were perplexed and then put 2 and 2 together. They showed our friend the picture of the former owner, and she said "yeah, that was her". After telling her the whole story, the friend has never been back to the house. Freaked her out too much.

Spent a lot of time drinking at the old cemetaries in Charleston, SC... never saw anything unusual there. Actually, it was quite peaceful and a great place to get together with friends. NOt that I condone such activity anymore ;).
