What do you all reckon ???

Whats the best wood for the body of a geetar ??
And what about the neck and fretboard ???

Is there a combinational wood nirvana for that perfect tone ??

i'm no expert but i'd always stick with the mahogany body with a maple top

as for fret board, i like ebony but that's more for the look than anything else

Well, I have a magnificent piece of wood popping out between my legs at the moment. Does anyone want to try play with it to test it's tone?

I'm partial to a maple neck & fret board. Seems to lend a brighter tone & I get a better grip (Grrrrrr) on maple.:D

There's something about a combo of alder and maple that tickles me ears...

tone woods (http://www.edromanguitars.com/wood/main.htm)

Here's a list of tone woods and their propereties. This is a good reference tool, but don't buy into everything this guy says on his site. He can be as full of shit as anybody concerning the quality of his work as opposed to the "major" brand names.

Check out his rants section, it's informative also.

My wood is really responsive

It seems to spring up just from touch!

Scatman, your wood responds to poo...

We are after tonal qualities, not trigger points for scat
erections !! :)
