Does anyone really have a favourite 'Zeppelin' song????????
Zeppelin is classic like Beatles, Stones, Who and Van Halen (78-84).
Classic meaning any song on any given album is great to crank up.

I'll probably be assasinated for saying this, but I have always though Led Zep were a tad bit overrated. They were a very hit and miss live band, and I have always preferred Deep Purple. Having said that, they are one of the biggest bands ever, so I think I could be out numbered in my views.
Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy listening to them, but I just don't see what everybody else sees.

That wasn't the question.
My favourite Zep song is "Misty Mountain Hop" as it was the first song off of Led Zeppelin IV i had never heard before and that was the first whole zep album i ever heard. As soon as i heard that i thought "there's so much more than the Early Days CD"

Shit....I dig so many of their toons it would take days to list them all....
They were one of the bands that taught me to play guitar, and gave me the correct info'mation that the Blooze is the Infinite Bringer Of Pain & Delight from which all life is reflected....
or some such krap...

Speaking of "When The Levee Breaks", here is the original version recorded by Kansas Joe McCoy & Memphis Minnie in 1929...

Yea, I knew that, I was just expressing my opinion.
In answer to the original question, which I have just realised I didn't answer, 'Black Dog'.

Its a shame Radio has overplayed Black Dog, Rock and Roll, Whole lotta Love.. Great songs, but I have heard them way too many times
now...
Undeniably classic songs. Undeniably overplayed.

Yeah, they do sound pretty similar though they're played differently.
Anyways, I can't pick a favorite Zep song because it changes so often (right now it's Sick Again) but my favorite album is Physical Graffiti, closely followed by I, II, and III.

You mean Jimmy Page?
No. Seems to me the string section sound is actually a mellotron, though I could be wrong...

The violin bow is not for Kashmir.
It was used on Dazed and Confused.

C'mon man.

In a live setting, yes.
Kashmir is one of the few Zeppelin songs to use outside musicians. Session players were brought in for the string and horn sections, and it was orchestrated by John Paul Jones, who had been a session musician and arranger for years before joining Led Zep.
