Moonlight Mile
Sway
No Expectations
Happy
Torn and Frayed
Been on a ballad streak lately.
Also just listened to Goats Head for the first time in a loooong while. Much better and sleazier than I remembered.
Anyone who doesn't have Beggars Banquet and Let it Bleed is a worthless piece of scraped dog shit in my book.
Shit. I forgot TORN AND FRAYED. That's practically Number 1.

If it's any consolation, if they were any other band, Fingerprint File would've been right up there.
Their best song of the Goat's Head through Black and Blue period.

Indeed. It is a funk/rock masterpiece. No song sounds more like the mid-70s than FINGERPRINT FILE. It just sounds so...dangerous.

The closest thing to paranoid that Mick has ever gotten.
(And his vocals sound completely coked out, to match)
I always wondered if that's Mick Taylor playing bass on there, and not Wyman? Taylor played a lot of the Stones bnass parts while he was a member, and the playing sounds a little more proficient than what Bill normally did. (that being said, his playing on Miss You is superb)

Shine A Light
Almost Hear You Sigh
Beast Of Burdon
Sleep Tonight
Memory Motel
...I picked all slow ones....The Stones are one of the few rock bands that do ballads that I like.

Hard to say. It definitely has the feel of MISS YOU. Mind you, if I didn't know for sure that MISS YOU was recorded in Paris in '77, I would've sworn it was an outtake from 1974.
Funny how much they mixed things up back then. Frankly, that is one of their most fascinating periods...knee-deep in drugs and decadance. I've always thought the IORR album is one of their most under-rated. I really like IF YOU REALLY WANT TO BE MY FRIEND, IF YOU CAN'T ROCK ME, SHORT 'N' CURLIES and, of course, TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE...that last one just reeks of Mick Taylor!
