Why Ozzy had sucess after he left a big band and Dave didn't?

I do not know if I worded the question right but I have always wanted to know what other peoples theories are on this subject. Why did Ozzy have so much success after leaving a big band and Dave didnt. Ozzy is still crazy successful and didnt lose fame. Sting is another one but Ozzy
is a better comparison than Sting for this subject.

    My theories are

    1. Dave did not continually hire top guitarists. (guitarists that just shred) He quit after Jason Becker. I think he was just tired of it. He said that I think in his book. About auditioning after Jason.
Why didnt Dave go after Jasons friend Marty?

    2. Dave didn't promote enough.

    3. Dave's manager didn't do some things right. (market, example Just like Paradise was suppose to be the theme for Beverly Hills 90210)

    4. Dave took too long of a vacation after ALAE.

    5. I know maybe a lot of you are going to disagree with me on this one but I think sometimes Dave smokes too much pot. I just don't understand how people can do that every day and be productive. Hey thats just me. I never liked the high. I just wanted to vegg when I was on that shit.
    Maybe I am wrong.

Excuse my grammar and spelling I am typing on my laptop and I am not use to type on a small keyboard.

I think like all things times change and so does the music. I love Dave and see him to this day, after 91 dave just started to fade thats all. Van Halen didn't last that much longer maybe 94, balance was there end and thats not saying that was a good album, they were starting to fade. I like Ozzy saw him back in the day a lot. One thing got his carrier back on track, bitting the head off a dove!, thats all kids in my high school talked about, then you bought blizzard of oz and saw the tour and it just kept rollin.
