For those who support the war in Iraq, I am just curious with the death of American Soliders and thousands of Civilians do you still think it was worth it and if so why? What has been the net benefit of it? If you were able to turn back the clock would you have still went there?

I'm against the war, but I think it's obvious they still would have gone in.
Would they have planned it much differently? You bet.
Would they not have been so ideological in their what I honestly believe was a sincere belief, that the Iraqi people would line the streets with flowers for our troops? Easily.
Would they have not alienated so many vets and current members of the armed services by going in under false premises? YES.

I don't ever hear about the thousands of lives lost everyday right here at home (usa) yet I keep hearing about the 3000+ soldiers that have been lost in the Iraq war. This makes absolutely NO sense. When we start cracking down on the criminals for killing thousands and thousands here at home, then I may be more concerned with the 3000 soldiers we've lost.
Next: We have a duty as human beings to protect each other everywhere in the world...period.
Next: If we were suppressed the way the middle east is, we would ALL be begging someone like Bush and Blaire to step in and protect us, providing us the ultimate opportunity for democracy.
Lastly: We all need to get out of this "point and click" mentallity, meaning not everything happens at the snap of a finger. The results of this war will be great, the work will be hard. Get over it. That's life.

Aside from your lousy math skills, what the Hell are you talking about?? Are you actually making a direct comparison between street crime in the US, and the invasion and occupation of Iraq based on complete lies??

As a "Founding Fathers" type of an American. My question is to all of you "Conservatives & Liberals" ie.... Socialists and Communists. Since Congress NEVER declared war & that being the only power given to the govt by We the people to get us into a war, how come NO ONE is bring this up??? If you bombard your Congressman about this then they will vote in Congress to take this "authority" away from the President. He has usurped his authority to wage war unconstitutionally. BTW Im in the Marine Corps Reserves. And yes, Im NOT happy about this "war".

Congress fucked themselves by voting for the Iraq War Resolution, which allowed Chimpy to declare war on Iraq if the evidence showed they had WMD's and/or any link to 9-11.
Of course the answer was negative on both counts, but that didn't stop the PNAC'ers.
So Dumbass Bush Jr doesn't get ALL the blame on this one. The rubberstamp republicans and the DLC appeasers in Congress are to blame as well. And none of them have any excuses.

I've read it, and it's a great speech. And if that was true in General Butler's time, and it was true when Ike Eisenhower warned us in his farewell address in 1961, then just imagine how much worse it is today.
It's pathetic that most people don't even know the name Smedley Butler, let alone know about the job he "turned down".
