    The rUSt Festival

(press release) The historic concert, US Festival '83 brought over half a million people together for a three day celebration of 80's rock. The superstar lineup for "Heavy Metal Sunday" was an unprecedented collection of the biggest names in hard rock and heavy metal. For 1983, this was Woodstock, but in leather. With the blistering decibels of US '83 still echoing through Southern California, music lovers and head-bangers will be able to relive the spectacle, in a staged tribute event, fittingly dubbed the rUSt FESTIVAL
In the twenty years since the original event, "tribute bands" have entertained hard rock audiences with stunning re-creations of the 80's heavy metal shows. rUSt FESTIVAL brings together the world's finest tribute acts to pay homage to the legendary US '83 lineup of Van Halen, the Scorpions, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne and Motley Crue.

The site for the September 24th event, the N.O.S. Event Center (National Orange Show) in San Bernardino is an ideal locale for the day long outdoor event, located just minutes from the site of the 1983 US Festival. Additional activities, unique vendors, and special surprises also await music lovers at the show.

The massive rUSt FESTIVAL lineup is set to include a tribute to US Festival "™83, as well as tributes to classic rock super groups, making rUSt FESTIVAL the ultimate gathering of rock music in one event ever!

If this is a tribute to the bands that played the 83 US Festival, why is there an Iron Maiden tribute band?

Maiden did not play the US Festival in 83.

Kind of. She's in an all-female Alice Cooper/Iron Maiden Tribute band.
