I will never hear Dave do Tomorrow Never Knows because NO cover of that song should exist because it will fall so very short of the original on a million levels.

I've stayed away from the Diamond Dave album

I went with Cheatin Heart Cafe.
It reminds me of Frank Sinatra doing Sabbath tunes, or Sabbath doing show tunes or some such shit. One of these things does not go with the other.

over and out.

A Little Luck sucks pretty bad too.

It's like a retarded ass Las Vegas buffet tune.

In his defense though , Dave made a bunch of unbelievable albums and was entitled to something putrid to show he wasn't perfect.

Yup...Cheatin' Heart Cafe is absolutely the worst! I remember the first time I heard that piece of shit almost as vividly as when I first hear Eruption! That's how shocking it was!

If 6 Was 9 is by far the worst song Dave has ever recorded.

DLR7884
He butchered it.

I can't believe you put flex in this... wtf

this could really bring back Dave alive on his own!

it's modern and it rips!!

my vote goes for a little luck.

Iplayed that song to a lot of people, young and old and everyone likes it, It as fury, I can't beleive you don't like it, the feeling is exactly like atomic punk, or loss of control, I can't describe it, but one thing is for sure is that dave still as that spark when it comes to that kind of mayhem, the sisters they could never release something like this unless they come back with Dave.

play it loud, in your car you'll see what i mean...

Every song listed by WARF was listed for a reason....

They all are subpar DLR songs.

Nobody can argue with that.

Stand Up...the more you do it...the less you fall down...

Cheatin' Heart Cafe sounded better live in '94 without Travis Tritt.

Never liked Stand Up, don't like the break in Perfect Timing. I dig the Diamond Dave CD. With Van Halen I'll Wait.

I agree with AudioSpectrum.........not worth voting.... Dave shows his versatility in all that he sings....he can do ROCK, he can do VAUDEVILLE, he can CLOWN and he can be a BAD*SS. He's the definition of the word TALENT...... :)

Now, let's tawk Sammy tunes that hit a bad chord..........All ROTH Tunes that he tried....live versions on the Best of VH - Vol. 2
(Stand UP...the more you hear it...the MORE you fall down....)

I voted for other, 'cuz the WORST song he ever did ain't there... and that's that shitty DANCING IN THE STREETS thing. What a lame ass "song". It almost manages to ruin Diver Down. It sucks ass so bad you just wanna throw the cd away. I still can't believe Van Halen played that shit. It's a fookin' bunch of bollocks, it is.

As for the rest of Dave's tunes, solo or VH, cover or original... love 'em all. Every single one of 'em.

Cheers! :bottle:

Ouch! I thought this was a Dave site. ;) Why is Flex on this list? Im hoping his entire next cd sounds more like Flex and Scarecrow. worst on that list? If 6 was 9.

I hated "Look at all the people here tonight". That shouldn't even be considered a song...just a soundbite of Dave delivering the same line in a loop. It's a bunch of shit Dave's idiot former webmasters tk threw together and called a "song". The first "song" to be released straight from the internet to radio...what a bunch of baloney!

I absolutely hated Cheatin Heart Cafe, myself...I've stayed away from Diamond Dave, so...don't know...I heard a minor bit of Ice Cream Man 2, but only about 30 seconds...enough to know I'd better not go any further into the album...

Gotta go with my least fav Dave tune...I know its blues, but its just weak IMO.

Sensible Shoes.

Worst choice for a single, ever!

Wow!

I always thought it was one of the better songs on his album.

Jason Becker gave Dave more of a bluesy side.

Yeah, Becker did....but the music I always listen to is Blues and R & B, not really Hard Rock/Pop.

I like Dave because he sounds like a Blues singer in a Rock/Pop context.

But to me, Sensible Shoes sounds like a Rock/Pop singer attepting blues.

Hate to say it, but that almost sounds like Sammy lyrics, along the lines of "only time will tell if we stand the test of time".

Fuck, I find that tune mind-bogglingly horrible. I just can't comprehend that DLR fucking laid that to tape.

Would not someone in the process, somewhere along the line have realized it, and called out what a piece of ABSOLUTE SHIT it is?

It should have never been a single though... it should have been replaced by either DAMN GOOD or Hina.

Damn Good was a double A-side to Stand Up,over in the UK anyway.

not that it really mattered, it was about 63 in the charts.

WARF
09-21-2005, 12:41 PM
When you think about it, STAND UP was David Lee Roth's last billboard top 100 singles hit!

Dave hasn't had a top 100 song in seventeen years!!

That song would be great without the chorus!

"Slam Dunk" would have been a top 100 hit had DLR Band been released by a major record label.

What's wrong with Sensible Shoes? Cool lyrics, nice groove.

"I got a lot of money/ I look good and I'm funny"

Sounds like Dave to me.
