Unchain your 80s memories Sep 9 2005

Chester Chronicle

VAN Halen had everything for their fans in the 1980s.

There was the energetic, hard rock riffing from Eddie Van Halen, solid
bombastic drumming from his brother Alex, and the understated bass
lines of Michael Anthony.

Balancing the professionalism was the leg-splitting performances
given by the exuberant gravel-throated front man David Lee Roth.

The four produced anthemic music that fuelled a generation. The
figure hugging lycra and long hair may be out of fashion now, but 25
years on there are many fans who miss the live shows and new fans
who've only just discovered their music.

Tribute band Unchained can provide you with a cure if you're still
yearning for Van Halen.

The band have been performing around the country since summer
2003 and are now back at The Limelight Club, Crewe, on Sunday
September 11.

I watched some of the video of their live stuff.... ...pretty fucking bad. Definitely not the Punks, and not even close.

The singer has short hair, and when Greg Bissonette played Hot for Teacher with them, the singer was wearing a really bad wig. It looked like a total joke. I can't believe Greg agreed to play with them. The singer was nothing like Dave at all.

One word: Joke.
