Yeah. I really thought Van Halen was going to be the next Rolling Stones and go on forever. It's a damn shame because all the original members are still alive. What a waste!
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

The biggest dissapointment in rock was when we found out that VH would not be forever. Since I'm one die hard roth fan..I'll watch those old video's at least once a week (I never get sick of em') and the min. the opening synth to Jump comes on I always smile. Dave doing the split before the mic..moving his hands all around. This was a group that made me feel really good...and since the breakup (even though I was like 11) I've never really looked at rock the same way. My friends bust my balls a lot cause they say I cannot go one day without bringing up Dave or Old School VH...but they all agree that that was one hell of a band...

You gotta have ESP or sumthin'....was just watchin' old vidz too and thinkin' the same thing.

Funny thing is, you see Dave's solo vids and you can clearly see who contributed what. Dave had the unique humour. Alex tried to duplicate it later and thought that no one would notice...but Dave's absense was exactly that, in more ways than one....

The two previous posts above me...I know what you feel! Except...I wasn't there when Dave split, but still...I watch any Classic VH video, or even look at a Classic VH photo where they all seem to get along...it's pretty sad...what could have been!

"So there, I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopkeeper and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes...Nasty business, really, but sure enough I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show..."

I'm going home to watch every CVH and Dave vid I own. Finding out that DLR and Weird Al ask for the same bucks for a booking has got me really depressed. I think I'll get really stoned while I'm at it. Yeah, that's what I'll do.

When I found out I went to a bar and drank 13 shots of jack and got into three fights that day.

Its all academic now (cause it didn't happen), but would you really want VH to have ended up like the rolling stones ??? Doing stadium tours at 3 million dollars a ticket. The only good thing about the break up is that it left (leaving aside the red tampon) a pure legacy and it ended at a high point not like its gunna end for a band like metallica

Doctor Roth....YES..I would pay high ticket prices cause you know what? The stones STILL put on one hell of a show and to me they are worth every penny. VH would be too. I see where you're coming from...but high ticket prices have been the norm since the 90's...it aint gonna get any cheaper unless you catch a band in a bar. Just my opinion..not startin any problems.

I see nothing wrong with CVH turning into Rolling Stones.

Everyone rags and bitches about the Stones, but bottom line, who else is still putting out studio albums and tours from the Beatles generation?
