Greenspan goes and Bernanke is in what's your take?

    Alan Greenspan,
Nobody survives as long as Alan Greenspan without doing some things right, and the retiring Fed chairman can point to two major achievements during his tenure: the remarkable stability of the dollar and the fact that inflation in the US has jumped above 5% in only one of his 18 years.

It's strange to think that when Greenspan arrived at the Fed in 1987, Japan and West Germany (the Berlin Wall was still standing then) were being talked about as the new global powerhouses. Greenspan, according his fans, gave the US cheap money and price stability and its corporations responded with a productivity revolution, showing the rest of the world what it really means to be an economic superpower.
To follow him is 51 years old Mr Bernanke who has a solid background.
The change was positevely received by Wall Street do you think
Mr Bernanke would live up to his name?

    I'm glad Greenspan is gone!

That fucker singlehandedly wiped out the market "chasing" inflation!

He's been wrong more times than a weatherman and kept his job for waaaay too long!

He also managed to merge the Fed with political parties...something that until him hadn't happened!

Since every BCE appointment has been an incompetent moron (much like the pResident himself) I expect the new Great Depression to start by next summer (assuming the whole lot of these bastards haven't been Chimpeached by then)

Excellent post more opinions I am really interested in what Americans think on the subject but I must add that I hope the USA won't have a great depression like here in the UK I would not like to see my country going in recession cos that would make Bin Laden and his terrorist happy and loads of us suffer on a daily basis anyway it's more likely that we get wiped out by bird flu cos the governments are not really prepared for the out break.

There's no denying a "world economy" now...isolationist policies would only stall a recovery.

Chasing a spectre for the sake of creating a collapse is what Greenspan did! Wouldn't surprise me to find out that he was hedging short postions while the market tanked!
