Whenever I go to get a VH CD and I look at the six pack, I seem drawn by the power of "Women and children first".

When I got it all those years ago it was the last one I needed to complete the six and never got right into it.

It has grown on me so much that I usually pick it out first now.

Is that wierd?

Romeo Delight
I told her "Never in hell, no special reason"
Musta lied 'cause I ain't leavin'
We're in for a very long night
Heard a vicious rumor from your mama's tongue
You a desperate woman, need a man with a gun
High crime zone, in the city o' lights

Baby please, can't take it anymore
Ah! Baby please, can't take it anymore

I'm takin' whiskey to the party tonight
And I'm lookin' for somebody to squeeze. Uh! Uh!
I hear you're lookin' for somebody to fight
Baby, don't get uptight
Baby please

Wanna see my ID? Try to clip my wings
Don't have to show you proof o' anything
I know the law, friend
At the 'leventh hour I'm goin' back outside
Ooh, give it a try. I'm your last loose end

Baby please, I can't take it anymore
Oh, baby please, I can't take it anymore

I'm takin' whiskey to the party tonight
An' I'm lookin' for somebody to squeeze. Uh! Uh! Uh!
Hear you're lookin' for somebody to fight
Baby, don't get uptight
Baby please
Yeah!

(Guitar Solo)

Wow!

Oooh, baby
Oooh, baby
Oooh, baby

Uh feel my heartbeat
Feel my heartbeat
Feel my heartbeat
Oh, yeah

Feel my heartbeat
Feel my heartbeat (Ah)
Feel my heartbeat
Feel my heartbeat
Feel my heartbeat

Baby please, I can't take it anymore. Oh!
Yeah, baby please, (Ah-ha!) I can't uh take it anymore (Wow!)
Baby please, can't take it anymore
Whoa baby please, (Yeah) I can't take it anymore. Whoa!

I'm takin' whiskey to the party tonight
An' I'm lookin' for somebody to squeeze. Uh! Oh! Ow!
Hear you're lookin' for somebody to fight
Baby, don't get uptight
Baby please, yeah!
Baby please

There is NOTHING weird about that. Woman & Children first is one great album. I love every song on it! Hey man...if it's Classic VH it's never weird. Rock on!

W.A.C.F. is definitely one of my faves. It's their rawest sounding album.

WACF is a scary record. Not to me, but basically everyone else that thought they'd recorded something heavy.

Loss Of Control, (picking up where Outta Love Again left off) had all kindsa genres' scratchin' their mohawks/manes.

That fucking record made Greg Ginn decide to give up on complicated breaks.

Everyone that was heavy @ the time suddenly felt like Karen Carpenter.

Wendy O took the title personally, and just screamed louder!

Yeah!

It doesn`t happen much.

I`ve been here so long that I thought I had posted enough about Dave and VH and usually only come in here for a read.

It`s hard to think of something that hasn`t been done.

This probably has but what the fuck...it`s honest.

I love WACF. So heavy with, at times, a punky vibe too.
I think it was the last CVH album I bought, and it has grown on me too. I probably listen to it now more than VH1, 1984 or Diver Down. But they're all great.
They're work on WACF was so dangerous and edgy.
Still can't believe three of them went on to produce all that Van Hagar cheese.
Thank God we have the six pack.

Outstanding album...raw is a good way to describe it.

WACF has attitude...I never get tired of this one.

It doesn't have the biggest hits...but it's got the original VH/DAVE attitude at it's best..."we're here to take over"...and yeah, two of the five best VH songs, Romeo Delight and Take Your Whiskey Home...

This album is my bible.

Tend to go straight to Fools these days when listening to it...suppose I've just heard ATCWR and EWS almost too much between album, cassette, CD and especially radio.

Romeo Delight is in my top 5 CVH tunes of all time.

Take Your Whiskey Home...fan-fucking-tastic.

Dave should bust out Could This Be Magic live, rather than play the predictable elongated Ice Cream Man intro these days...betcha you could get a great response from those attendees in the know...

Btw, I have listened to lot of WACF lately...the thing I've really noticed is how impressive is Alex's drumming on this album...the style varies from song to another, but there are some grate fills and not a single boring moment from him on these songs...gotta drink for that!

WACF just set the bar higher as to how heavy rock should be played.

If any new band out there wants to "learn" how its done, give them WACF!
