Is 2 finger tapping all that considering Rik Emmett was able to do the solo without using that technique? Heck, I could've sworn the two artists were the same when hearing the solo for the first time!

Did Rik have a special technique of his own?

Don't know about rik Emmet but my fingers aren't happy with me for working on this move.

In Triumph's early days Rik was a major Jimmy Page fan. Go figure Rik's R&R Machine solo and Page's "Heartbreaker"solos are in G !
There is no tapping in either solos. only pull-offs.....
Had both solos nailed when I was 15. Fun stuff !

Thanks for the Holdsworth link Steve. He's the most under appreciated and scarriest guitarist on the face of the Earth !

"Guitarist Allan Holdsworth is widely considered to be one of the finest instrumentalists in all of jazz fusion, yet has never truly received the recognition that he so rightfully deserves."

Two handed tapping is the easy part of Ed's playing...it's all the other shit that is difficult. ;)

EVH's phrasing is amazing. In tabliture , some of his licks look very
traditional blues/Clapton-ish. But it's the way he blazes through them
is what makes them unmistakably him.

I've never heard the solo.

Have you a file of him playing it?

I'll tell ya if it's a bugger to do or not if you want.

No I've never heard the solo.
I was asking you to post a link to it so I could check it out, then tell you if it's hard to do.
I was curious to hear it.
I can't find it online.
