ok this is just an idea... but why doesnt the 'roth army' make a tribute album using tracks performed by some of the roth army recruits... and set it up for free download... a tribute to the 'MAN'

its simple really..... my idea is this....
anyone that can put together a 'decent' sounding version of a roth tune (and by deent i mean 2 things 1. they can play/sing and 2. they have a decent means of recording the song) we zipem to the site ( this i dont know how cuz im not a comp person) and they pick say the 14/15 best tunes and put em out for download.... a cover could be russled up no probs...( easily done fer me as thats me hobby) and 'daves' yer uncle.......

all those in favour??

i might talk my band into 'sensible shoes', but the drummer wants to do 'aint talkin about love'.....
heck, we'll do em both.

Can it be from a live show? We are much better live. Something 'bout the energy from the crowd that just sets us off!

Something similar was tried at DDLR ... never got off the ground.

If you guys do it, more power to you.

I can offer my assistance on guitar duties. I used to be able to pull off the majority of the first 6 albums decently. And I can record pretty well.

For what its worth...

This is about the only VH I have recorded here. Its the So This Is Love? solo. Not sayin its great or anything, but I can approximate most stuff...

Sammy - nice work on that tune man! I saw your version of Mean Streets live - real good.

I'd be up for some collaboration. If there's a drummer and bassist around here who'd wanna do their parts for the tune, that'd be cool too. I dunno...

Didn't Igosplut wanna try to make a CD with some of the members making a contribution to it long time ago? Whatever happened to that? Remember the "Studio" in the Mojo Dojo? That was working out well at one point....

(just a passing thought and fond memory ;) :) )

If anyone wants to do this we can do some tracks .. cover art and give it away for free on the front of the site.

I think this would be great!

it would be a way of honouring the man that gave us our tunes
