sounds like the critic didn't enjoy himself but the fans did!
But campy stage presence aside, Roth did come through on the vocals, hitting enough of the throat-shredding high notes to satisfy. His signature high-kicks and flying back-kicks were spot on, as well. And the audience absolutely loved it.
He's not the Dave he used to be. But then again, neither are his fans, who've traded long hair, leather and tight denim for mom jeans, khaki shorts and Keds. And they sure didn't seem to care about how lackluster and poorly paced his performance was that night. The crowd was so loud, in fact, that they nearly refused to let Roth leave the stage after an encore of "Jump." -

Dave puts on a show-yes. The sad part is, Dave doesn't realise the show is over, when he's still performing. a small club filled with 40 yr olds isn't exactly lighting the world on fire again. At least Ed, Al and Mike know when to stay away. Dave does what he does for money. The smile is painted on, the hips crack at every swivel, his hair, my god, if he loses any more hair he could stunt double for one of the guys from the Blue Man group. In fact, he's already got the blue suit!
Ed will be coming out soon with a comp. CD filled with amazing guitar work to prove that he's still the final piece of the puzzle, not the main one and certainly not the ONLY one like Dave seems to believe he is.
