The Bass Player Joining Hagar's New Tour

According to MelodicRock.com, Sammy Hagar revealed in a recent interview with Steve Dahl of the Chicago radio station WCKG that he has completed work on nine new songs with his band THE WABORITAS for a new album, entitled "Livin' It Up", tentatively due next year. Sammy will tour next year in support of the album, with VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony in tow. Hagar said the show would open with a WABORITAS set before moving on to VAN HALEN material.

On the topic of VAN HALEN, Sammy stated that he has not spoken to guitarist Eddie Van Halen since the end of the 2004 tour, but suggested that if Eddie called, he would gladly talk to him.

With VAN HALEN now on hiatus, Hagar resumed touring this year as a solo act. His "The Tequila Made Me Do It" tour, during which he played with both MONTROSE and THE WABORITAS, took place in August.

Hagar and VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony continue to play together in another group, LOS TRES GUZANOS.

Hagar said the show would open with a WABORITAS set before moving on to VAN HALEN material.

In other words, Hagar means that he'll force feed the 20 people in the crowd that Waborita puke music before getting to something that they might actually WANT to hear. Of course, if it's anything written after 1985, even that's open to debate. That's pretty much tantamount to being forced to sit through the opening act before getting to the headliner.

They should do the VH stuff FIRST...and see how many people stick around to hear the Waborita "music." Of course, that might be too much of a reality check for Spammy and his gimp.
