Vinyl, cassette and CDs: around 1400.

Not including bootlegs or copies.

It sounds a lot but it`s only about 70 a year (average) since I started collecting.

5 years ago I think around 300 store bought .

Now maby 330, I download a lot but mostly old stuff anyway.

The sad thing is my vinyl collection was stolen 12 years ago, a goldmine 250 - 300 LP, 85 % 80'th metal.

What possible use is there for this information? Boredom?

Are you feeling insecure in your collection.

We'll let you count your Pyromania Picture Disc as 2 if it helps you, skippy.

We're all audiophiles here. Obviously. What fucking difference could it possibly make to you how many pieces in our collections?

If I say 4-5,000 will that make you skulk? If you had more than someone in here would that make you proud, and would you strut back up the basement stairs and brag?

I'm calling "worthless attention whore thread"

True enough, but it was no trouble.

Perhaps you have an answer, as the question was not rhetorical in nature.

Why would anyone care how many CDS are in someone's collection, and what would one do with the information?

Just because you can start a thread, doesn't mean you should start a thread.

Regardless, carry on with your comparisons.

Same here and true that.

I honestly cannot remember the last cd I actually purchased? I usually just download and burn stuff. ;)

I think the last cd I actually purchased was either The Corrs last one or Kenny Chesney's? I snagged them cos I was going on a road trip, was buying some other last minute needs at Super Target and decided to pick them up.

All in all, I'd assume I have about 700 cd's. Let's not even mention what I still have on vinyl cos that's easily a cupla hundred.

A funny note to mention... I still remember the very last record that I purchased on vinyl. I remember because that was the time when CD's completely took over the format. Anyway, it was "Skyscraper" when it was first released. I bought it on cd, vinyl and pre-recorded cassette the day it was released.

I have about 1700 store-bought CDs, including box sets. Pretty sick, but I listen to most of 'em.

Last CD I bought was an IGGY POP one called PARTY. Before that, the new DEPECHE MODE. I still buy 'em, though I have nothing against people burning and also burn the odd rare thing myself.

I don't know...I thought the yogurt joke was pretty funny. Good thing about Canadians is that we can laugh at our own expense.

Do you have any more, Lounge? Bring'em on, I've got a thick skin.

Damn.... all these downloaders. I'm gonna send "Big Train" in here.

For the record, I have well over 1000, and those that could be paid for, were paid for. But I don't feel the least bit guilty downloading the boots. Or trading through the mail in some cases.

What's scary though is that how few of those were purchased after about 1996.

The bulk of what I've purchased since then have been box sets of the decent bands. You get something like Sabbath's "Black Box" and it helps you replace some warn out cassettes not to mention a really horribly mastered "Paranoid" CD that I bought for 5 bucks at some truck stop.

Actually Depeche Mode got less gayer after Vince Clark left. And then he formed Erasure which was really gay.

Sorry FORD.

That's like saying WHAM got less Gay when George left.

Broken up, they're still more gay than a Young Republican Convention

I don't know about that. Andrew Ridgely is certainly gay, but he's completely devoid of musical talent. So all the relevant homosexuality went with George in that breakup.
