Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

So this is Xmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Xmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very Merry Xmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Xmas (war is over)
For weak and for strong (if you want it)
For rich and the poor ones (war is over)
The world is so wrong (if you want it)
And so happy Xmas (war is over)
For black and for white (if you want it)
For yellow and red ones (war is over)
Let's stop all the fight (now)

A very Merry Xmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Xmas (war is over)
And what have we done (if you want it)
Another year over (war is over)
A new one just begun (if you want it)
And so happy Xmas (war is over)
We hope you have fun (if you want it)
The near and the dear one (war is over)
The old and the young (now)

A very Merry Xmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

War is over, if you want it
War is over now

Happy Xmas

As soon as your born they make you feel small
by giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
Working Class Hero is something to be
Working Class Hero is something to be

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and despise a fool
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules
Working Class Hero is something to be
Working Class Hero is something to be

When they've tortured and scared you for 20 odd years
then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear
Working Class Hero is something to be
Working Class Hero is something to be

Keep you doped with religon, sex and T.V.
and you think you're so clever and classless and free
but you're still fucking peasents as far as I can see
Working Class Hero is something to be
Working Class Hero is something to be

There's room at the top I'm telling you still
but first you must learn how to smile as you kill
if you want to be like the folks on the hill
Working Class Hero is something to be

Yes , A Working Class Hero is something to be
If you want to be a hero well just follow me
If you want to be a hero well just follow me

There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more

Oh dear, what can I do?
Baby's in black and I'm feeling blue,
Tell me, oh what can I do?
She thinks of him and so she dresses in black,
And though he'll never come back, she's dressed in black.
Oh dear, what can I do?
Baby's in black and I'm feeling blue,
Tell me, oh what can I do?
I think of her, but she only thinks of him,
And though it's only a whim, she thinks of him.
Oh how long will it take,
Till she sees the mistake she has made?
Dear what can I do?
Baby's in black and I'm feeling blue,
Tell me, oh what can I do?
Oh how long it will take,
Till she sees the mistake she has made?
Dear what can I do?
Baby's in black and I'm feeling blue,
Tell me, oh what can I do?
She thinks of him and so she dresses in black,
And though he'll never come back, she's dressed in black.
Oh dear, what can I do?
Baby's in black and I'm feeling blue,
Tell me, oh what can I do?

I was 16 at the time when I first heard the news that morning of the death of the late, great John Lennon & being a dedicated Beatles fan myself it was like a kick to the gut but he wil always be one of the GREATEST singers, songwriters & musicians of all time with timeless music asa member of the Beatles & as a solo artist.

I just saw a documentary on this Chapman dude...

He's nothing but a self-centered, delusional, holier-than-thou nutcase. Rot in hell, asshole...

Good compilation. A good selection on it. Obviously, it scratches the surface with plenty of good material left off. But it is still very good.

25 years... They'd play "Woman", "Jealous Guy" and "Imagine" over and over again on the radio back then. I couldn't get much of the words at that time, but these songs gave me the blues. They still do.
Death is wrong, too often. The gun should have turned round and blown that nutty's face out instead.
John Lennon is dead, but Julio Iglesias is still living... Cool world.

Very fucking sad day indeed.

Just totally senseless.

And they give the whole Chapman story an hour on national tv a couple of weeks ago, and at the end of an hour on Chapman the show ends by saying that we shouldn't pay any attention to the way Lennon died, but instead how he lived. Fair enough, but sounds kinda stupid after 60 minutes dissecting Lennon's assassins whole life!

About time for the media to stop giving so much air time to slabs of shit like Chapman, Scott Peterson, Manson, Dahmer and all the rest. Just helps encourage sad sacks to go out and bump somebody off in order to get attention. Used to be people paid attention to those who did good deeds. Now it's like a nation full of car-crash oglers when you flip through all these 'reality' shows that show people at their worst.

I remember hearing the news on Monday Night Football... I was 11. Howard Cosell broke in during the game. He had developed a friendship with Lennon, even interviewed him during a monday night game in L.A.... crazy stuff!

I went into nyc today around 300pm and Yoko actually came into the park amid bodyguards and nyc finest.Great day, lotta brandy and a great vibe.Ill say this you get the chills when you walk by the dakota especially where it all happened. To me its all about the band, their solo carreers were about getting their lives back.Purely speculation,i know.

My parent's generation had "where were you when you heard JFK was killed"

For my generation, it will always be John Winston Ono Lennon.

I was 18, in my apartment watching a Sonics game when the crawl came across the screen "John Lennon shot in NYC"

Minutes later it was "John Lennon Dead"

It was one of those "out of body" disconnects where the world stood still.

damn.

damn.

damn.

CNN has gotten everything else wrong since they got bought by AOL, so I'm not surprised to hear that. Idiots.... I suppose they never would have thought to play "Imagine".
