I HOPE Paul McCartney wins an album of the year Grammy for Chaos & Creation In The Backyard proving to the no talent young artists of today that this former Beatle is still above them all.

        Re: Grammy Nominations Here....

A lot of these nominees are completely ridiculous, but I'll take a shot at it.....

        1. Record of the Year: "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," Green Day.

        2. Album of the Year: "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb," U2.

        3. Song of the Year: "Devils & Dust," Bruce Springsteen, (Bruce Springsteen).

        4. New Artist:
Ciara, Fall Out Boy, Keane, John Legend, SugarLand.
None of the above. Who the fuck are any of these people??

        5. Female Pop Vocal Performance:
"I Will Not Be Broken," Bonnie Raitt.

        6. Male Pop Vocal Performance:
"From the Bottom of My Heart," Stevie Wonder.
Honestly I haven't heard the song, but it has to be better than anything else on that list.

        7. Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal: "More Than Love," Los Lonely Boys.

        8. Pop Collaboration with Vocals:
        Foo Fighters featuring Norah Jones.

        9. Pop Instrumental Performance:

"In Our Time," Burt Bacharach & Chris Botti; "T-Jam," George Duke; "Gelo Na Montanha," Herbie Hancock featuring Trey Anastasio; "Agave," Daniel Lanois; "Caravan," Les Paul.

Haven't heard any of them, but give it to Les. The guy invented the electric guitar, for fucks sake. How many more shots does he have at a Grammy

        10. Pop Instrumental Album:
        "Bloom," Eric Johnson.

        11. Pop Vocal Album: "Extraordinary Machine," Fiona Apple; "Breakaway," Kelly Clarkson; "Wildflower," Sheryl Crow; "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard," Paul McCartney; "Love. Angel. Music. Baby.," Gwen Stefani.

Hell if I know.... McCartney's album is one of his weakest, and I haven't heard the rest of them. I'll pass on this one

        12. Dance Recording:

"Guilt Is a Useless Emotion," New Order.

        13. Electronic/Dance Album:

"Push the Button," The Chemical Brothers; "Human After All," Daft Punk; "Palookaville," Fatboy Slim; "Minimum-Maximum," Kraftwerk; "LCD Soundsystem," LCD Soundsystem.

None of the above. They give awards for this shit??

        14. Traditional Pop Vocal Album:

"The Art of Romance," Tony Bennett; "It's Time," Michael Buble; "Isn't It Romantic," Johnny Mathis; "Moonlight Serenade," Carly Simon; "Thanks for the Memory ... The Great American Songbook Volume IV," Rod Stewart.

Give the award to Tony Bennett because at least he sticks with his own fucking genre of music. Yes Rod & Carly, I'm looking at you....

        15. Solo Rock Vocal Performance: "Revolution," Eric Clapton; "Shine It All Around," Robert Plant; "Devils & Dust," Bruce Springsteen; "This Is How a Heart Breaks," Rob Thomas; "The Painter," Neil Young.

I'll go with The Boss, because Plant ain't the singer he used to be, unfortunately

[i]16. Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal:

"Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own," U2.

        17. Hard Rock Performance:

        "Doesn't Remind Me," Audioslave.

        18. Metal Performance:

        "The Great Satan," Ministry.

        19. Rock Instrumental Performance: "Beat Box Guitar," Adrian Belew; "Birds of Prey," Stewart Copeland; "69 Freedom Special," Les Paul & Friends," "Mercy," Joe Perry; "Lotus Feet," Steve Vai.

        20. Rock Song:

"City of Blinding Lights, U2, (U2).

        21. Rock Album:

"A Bigger Bang," The Rolling Stones.

        22. Alternative Music Album:

"Get Behind Me Satan," The White Stripes.

I deleted the "R&B" categories out of fairness because I hadn't heard any of the music. Honestly, the shit that gets passed off as "R&B" these days usually has as much "soul" as Van Hagar, so I'd be inclined to vote Stevie Wonder or Aretha Franklin in whatever categories they're in, just because I know they are REAL. Among the newer performers in that category, Alicia Keys is one of the few exceptions. She's talented. And damn beautiful besides.
